SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic - my Journey.

UPDATED FROM PillowTops

Final thoughts as of end of January.

I just don't like this. I can't say it's awful. But I can say it's NOT meant for oily skin.
It doesn't apply well. And it doesn't play well with makeup.

I will continue to try it til it's gone. If I see any actual results I will absolutely update again and I will change the worth it rating, if I change my mind.
Full transparency: I've only had this a out 5-6 weeks. I might just need more time. I don't know.

But I have seen NO change in skin tone or evenness. I have seen no distinguishable changes on skin texture...not my scars, lines, or pores. I have seen NO real progress that is actually discernable to the eye.

I do like the way it makes my skin feel...when it's not super oily, that is...but that's honestly not enough to justify the price, imo. And it ALWAYS gets super oily with this product on my skin. So, there's a small window of feels good to the touch.

So overall, it did not help me, it made me muuuch more greasy than ever before, and I wish I had had a better experience.

I have no new pics because there are just no changes to report.

I will absolutely be updating if any real changes occur and I do hope that happens.

But for now, my opinion is that I can not recommend this product to anyone with oily skin or acne scarring or problem skin. But I am grateful that I had an opportunity to try this product out and put my experience out there for anyone in a similar situation to mine, to help them make an informed decision.

It's ok. Honestly, everything doesn't work for everyone. And that's ok. I appreciate that I got to try it, even if it want for me.

Another update.

Adding recent pics.
No real changes to report.
I still have excessive oil...so, that was not an adjustment. It's just how my oily skin reacts to this product.
Don't really see much difference in my texture or color of skin.
I do think my skin feels nice to the touch now. But that's really the only positive change to report for me.
I've learned the best way to apply the product, and keep it to the suggested 3-5 drops, is to apply right after the shower, while skin is dried off but still dewy. The dewiness helps move the product around. That's the only way I can get it to cover all the areas without double the recommended amount of drops. I like the feel of it more using less of the product, so I'll continue applying it this way.
I'll be back in a few days for another update and my worth it rating.
Unfortunately, based on my limited experience so far, I don't know that this product is right for oily or excessively damaged skin.
I fully intend to keep using this and will definitely update if I see further progress.
Pics attached.

I agree I have to apply while my skin is still slightly damp because it dries quickly. If skin is completely dry it don’t have much manipulation of the product. For me less is more for me. I only use 2-3 drops anymore makes my face look too shiny.
Yeah it dries weird. Not an oil. Not a lotion. I still have to use about 5 for fill coverage. I think my experience is just different than most people's. It seems to be NOT a formula that works well for oily skin. That's ok. Everything isn't for everyone. I'll keep trying it til it's gone though.
Thanks for stopping by.
*full coverage.
Good call about skin having to be dewy. I had the same issue with it. Anyone else think it's awful under makeup? It did not play nice with my other skin care/ makeup regimen.
Yeah, it doesn't play well with makeup.
It honestly just isn't for my skin type at all.
I'm glad I found out about the dewy application...it helps keep the amount lower on my face.
But I honestly just don't love this stuff. I don't see why everyone else seems to. I suppose I have to chock it up to my skin being different?!? Idk. I hate to give my worth it rating right now, feeling like I might like it more in another month. But that's the deal.
Thanks for stopping by!
It's not just you. I didn't love it either. It's a bummer because it says all the right things and ticks all the boxes for me. Brighter skin? Yes please. Protection against free radicals? For sure I want that. Prevention for aging? Yup, definitely want that. Lol. It just didn't seem to do any of those things for me. I did see some women really like it in here though. I guess it just depends on the skin type. I'm glad I'm not the only one though that wasn't wowed.
I'm glad I'm not the only one too! I actually feel sort of bad that I'm not having the same experience as the other ladies. So, thanks for coming over and being real with me. I thought I was the only one!!! Hugs.

Next update. Changes?

So, I got this a few days before Christmas. Started using it right away. No major changes except the oiliness, which I've mentioned already.
But today when looking in the mirror closely at my acne scarring...did I notice a change?
I'm honestly not sure. Could be my mind playing tricks (after decades of hating my skin and wishing something would help). But my cheeks seemed a bit smoother. (In total transparency, I do use at home microderm type treatments - a couple different things, and I did do one of them again this week, but that was a few days ago)...but my skin seemed a bit smoother today.
I'm unsure. Hopeful. I'll keep ya posted!
One other new change that is definitely happening is the way my skin feels. It's super soft and smooth feeling on both face and chest.
Honestly, I've always had very baby soft skin, ironically (because it doesn't look baby soft on my face!), but this is a different feeling. Smoother? Tighter? I can't describe it.
Until today I wasn't seeing much in the way of changes. But I do FEEL something different about my skin for sure.
So, I'm gonna keep my eyes on things and see what happens. Will I get some big results and changes?
I really would love that. Stay tuned.

I’m excited you are starting to notice some positive changes!! It does take time with this product. Consistency matters. I’m not always great with consistency but I have been with this product. I can’t wait to see what your final thoughts are.
Thanks! I've been consistent. Not necessarily on what time I apply it, but in the fact that it is applied daily with the same type of routine.
I'm excited too! Thanks.
