Fibroblast/Plasma Pen Laser Treatment

Pure beau Plasma Pen Review. This pen emits a high power oxygen blast and just before it touches your skin it makes a tiny burn. The technician makes a pattern of several burns in between each individual line in the specific area. I had multiple areas treated and the entire appointment lasted 3.5 hours. Needless to say it was a slow delicate process. Each little dot is a separate burn which will cause damage to the epidermis creating a tiny scab. When the scab heals and falls off you have pink fresh skin underneath and from within will eventually create collagen stimulation with the final result ending in skin tightening. It is NOT to be confused with a J plasma lift or Renuvion lift which is a stronger CO 2 type laser.
This pen and a few others are relatively new in the US within FDA guidelines. I have not found any reviews here on Realself so that's why I thought it was my turn to do a post. There may be some but I couldn't find any. I should note there are some excellent Utube videos out there on this. . Catherine Byer has several. I believe this device is similar to what is being used for Tattoo removal, dark spot removal and hair growth as well. Some less powerfull for DIY at home use.
So...I had this done on my eyelids, upper and lower eyes, crowsfeet, chin and partial neck. I chose it primarily because it is safe to use on the eyelid and I don't know of many other non surgical treatments out there that are approved for the eyelid. FYI, yes, I does hurt. I was knumbed for approximetly 40 minutes before plus I took my own mild pain med. I have to admit there were areas where I was gritting my teeth and hanging on the edge of the table praying for it to be over. It was not so bad that I wouldn't do it again but I would think long and hard about it because the results thus far after three weeks are very subtle. Bare in mind, it takes up to 3 months to see full collagen stimulation so, the jury is still out. I was also informed that it may be necessary to have multiple treatments for optimal results. I was kind of a gross mess for about 5 days (see photos) but by day 7 with some Pur mineral powder makeup the scabs had healed and fallen off and it was almost 100% unnoticeable. I did do 3 Infared light treatments in that first week and I truly believe they aided in the healing process. I may do a second Fibroblast treatment but as we are all aware, timing is everything. Athough it was only about a week of downtime, that is still always a factor plus I'm not sure my husband could tolerate another anytime in the near future.
*The final photo I post on day 7 turned out to be quite a bit more complimentary than it is in actuality but it's all I have at this moment. I will update with something more accurate soon.

Hi there! Thank you for posting a review and your photos of this procedure. I recently heard about it and became more excited after seeing the before and after photos online. However, after scouring the internet for more info. (and to locate providers in the U.S.), it appears it is SO NEW, very few doctors here offer it. Although I did find numerous providers in Europe and Canada and tons of training courses for the procedure. Can you tell me where you had this done (doctor's name, city, etc.)? I live in Colorado, but would be willing to fly somewhere close. :-) Thank you!

Well you're exactly right, DwantsBgain, is your name. I live in Michigan. There are a few doctors around the Detroit area I believe I went to Windsor Ontario my procedure done.

2 Month Post Plasma Pen Update

Hi, thank you all for your interest and comments on my review. Should you do it? For best results be prepared to do it at least twice. I haven't done an update until now because I wanted enough time to let it heal and do it's "thing" before I jumped to a conclusion. Sooo, okay, I do see SUBTLE improvement in my fine lined in all the areas treated. I do believe to get any major results you definitely need more than one treatment. That being said, the 5-7 day downtime is a big deal. I would have it a second time but I'm not prepared to go through that again right now. Reasons; it's Spring/Summer so no sun, downtime and cost. It is recommended to not get any sun on the area for approximately 90 days,
If cost + downtime are factors I'm torn to give this a thumbs up. I still have a few tiny dot scars on my upper cheekbone on just one side. Unnoticeable with makeup and I trust they will go away eventually.
Otherwise I have no disparaging comments but again, it's a very subtle improvement. Breaking this down I would say there has been some tightening under my chin and neck. Some good results under my eyes, upper lid results are less dramatic. I had my eyes done many years ago and I was recently told not enough skin there to have a second but my upper lids are crinkly which was the major factor I chose to do this. Not much improvement in my crepey cheeks either but maybe a little. I want some filler there next!
My last comment will be that surgery ie. a total facelift is the bottom line real key to the fountain of youth but, if, for a million different reasons, you are not up for that, any and all the many procedures out there are worth your time and money. I have tried most and I believe anti-aging is the sum total of all of them combined. It's an ongoing battle. I'm just hoping eventually I get to the point I don't care anymore lol. Posting photos tomorrow.

I just read s few horror stories about this so I need to add:
My technician used a #2 setting on me which is very light and yes, it still hurt but going too deep on the delicate facial skin is a big no no. Going light on the face is why it may take additional treatments. These things have settings to do your entire body! Arms, tummy, knees, hands, etc. Those are the areas for a higher settings. Talk to whomever you use extensively before you jump in.

Thanks all of you for the compliments but I really don't see very much change. It's hard to tell from my photos. The cell phone camera is not the best. I'm going to give this treatment a hands down because there is too much downtime for a small amount of improvement.

Now getting around to adding photos. All healed and still hoping for improvement. See my 2 month review above. Maybe better results if I had a second treatment. I said all I have of interest yesterday in my written 2 month update but for some reason realself is requiring me to input 200 characters so I'm just going to keep typing till I get there so I can post these most recent photos.

How long did the little dots last before dropping off? What did the provider say when you show to me still had some sagging on one eyelid? Thanks!
