SkinPen microneedling damage - 0.25 depth with PRF injections

Skin Pen Microneedling Damage
I got Skinpen microneedling at 0.25 depth with PRF injections around my eyes and upper cheeks. I experienced very little redness no swelling, and my skin looked completely normal until the morning of day 4. Even though I followed after care instructions and was still using the serum my provider gave me, I woke up on day 4 to my skin looking completely shriveled up. I thought, oh it’s just dehydrated, and lathered on the moisturizer and healing ointment. But then, I started noticing horizontal track marks that follow the line of my cheek bones. I waited for it to get better, but it didn’t. 3 weeks after the initial treatment, I returned to my provider who said that crinkly crepey skin was normal at this point and that it would return to normal eventually. She said she didn’t notice the track marks. We did prf injections in the micro needled areas, which I was hesitant to do because I was afraid the swelling would stretch out my already fragile skin. But, I was assured it wouldn’t stretch out the skin. When the swelling subsided a few days later, the crepey skin was even worse. It’s now 6 weeks since the initial treatment, and although the crepey skin has improved very slightly, it’s still very crinkly and shriveled looking. I also have realized that the tram track marks are indeed scars. They run horizontally and vertically over my cheekbones, and look like fine lines made up of very tiny holes. The juncture between my eyes and my cheeks is a bit loose and looks like tissue paper. I can hide it with heavy moisturizers, but I’m still young and terrified I’ll never get my smooth skin back.
I’ve been reading other microneedling damage reviews and trying to follow advice, but I’m losing hope. I cry every day and struggle to leave the house. This has been so completely devastating. I could never have imagined that one microneedling treatment at the lowest possible depth could cause so much destruction.
The professionals I’ve spoken to are convinced it will heal, and claim they can’t imagine that .25 depth would lead to permanent skin damage, but none of them have ever experienced having a client or patient who had adverse affects.
Please don’t ever microneedle already smooth skin. In hindsight, I was absolutely not the right candidate for this as my skin was already smooth and taut. Now, I’m afraid I’ll never get that back.

I have also been scared it will never heal, but have seen some improvement at the 4 month mark. The crepey areas are a little less crepey, and the track marks are slightly less deep. I’ve noticed that what looks like fine lines are actually just shallow tram track scars, which I’m hoping will fade over time.
I found that any form of exfoliation makes it all worse because I think my skin was thinned and is too fragile, so I’ve been focusing on healing/ regenerative strategies.
I’ve been using trial sizes (because they’re all super expensive) of Neogenesis Recovery (stem cells), Defenage Barrier Cream and Bioserum (defensin peptides), Oneskin (anti-senescent peptide), and Stratia Liquid Gold (ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids)
Eliminating retinoids/ exfoliants/ harsh cleansers and focusing on barrier repair has been the most helpful for me, but I know that everyone is different and needs to figure out what works best for them. I’m also considering trying just PRF injections, but I want my skin to heal a bit more before I’m ready for that.
There’s a Facebook Support Group called Skin Damage Survivors that is very private, so you have to message Kaja Beazleigh to get in. I hear they are a wealth of information and support. I hope you are able to find some hope or comfort, as I know how distressing this is.
How long ago was your treatment?
