Hello, did you continued with your treatment? I just got my first sesion and I'm super scared. I'm a little bit red but I have those boxed shapes, like a grid. Did yours disappear?
hmm sounds like we're on the same boat. do you have your pictures? how long did you scab? i definitely wouldn't continue my fraxel treatment. looking for tca peels (but my face easily flush and i'm afraid it won't scab off perfectly again leaving indented scars) or dermarolling (no microneedling for sure but not sure if any doc still perform dermarolling nowadays)
allot of people have this issue look up laser damage and you will see lots of people who still have not recovered years later. be gentle with your skin because it has been severely damaged
yes, i'm at the point of instead of being panicked and stressed out, i try to see the bigger picture and being grateful with what i've had. this is my second time scarring, so it's on top of my first scars in a much bigger form. not socializing, crying out etc, been there , done that and looking back, now i won't waste my time just doing that. yes i need to put on makeup everytime i go out but good thing noone seems to notice the scar (perhaps they just think i'm just having a breakout lolz). i would definitely look for ways to improve it and try to accept though very hard that it might not be completely healed but i guess with all the rush-in actions, it could make it worse or prolong the healing process instead of improving it :)
Hello. I am sorry to read your experience but looking at your skin is exactly like looking at my own face. How is everything with you now?
well this happened to me as well i healed it with heavy moisturizing and juicing, avoiding sugar and processed foods and positive thinking. best moisturizers are the baby dermatologist approved moisturizers. i had good results with avocado oil fresh cucumber and potato skin for toning and tightening the skin. be extreme careful over the counter products because it can do more harm then good
This happened to me too, years later and its still the same. I was 23/24 now I'm 31. I wish someone would've warned me but RealSelf is full of Drs saying that IPL and Fraxels are cure-alls. I would suggest micro needling and some glycolic peels in a few months to fix your issues.

1.5 months past Fraxel Restore 1st treatment

any of you has these textural issue (looking rough texture, linear and boxy pattern from the tip of the laser and newly formed indented scars) as mine and completely healed by time? as for the redness, i believe by time it would subside. currently the doctor prescribed me Stieva 0.5% tretinoin cream which could cause redness but I believe would help with the textural issue.
in the meantime, i would not do any other treatment and wait until at least 3 months to see the improvement. I just take 1000mg vitamin c and Zinc 400IU.
Below I attach pictures of the initial scar condition pre-treatment and after 1.5 months first laser treatment

Your outcome is ok, a lot of us are wrecked . A dr told me don't use anything on your face and don't wash but maybe your case is different . I hsve large pores too , waxy skin and it's dehydrated and shut down vim, my texture is ruined . My skin color destroyed completely , hypo and hyoerpigmentation everywhere! Maybe stop using products to let your skin heal
I don’t think she know how to deal with my skin. I am wrecked. Or she’s scared to make it worse with treatment. I kept asking her about the squiggly lines, dents and holes. She was just worried about making the redness go away. I’m gonna wait one more week and see what she says. She started to mention laser and I was like not in a million years. I could tell they felt sorry for me. But if she has no good news next week, I’ll just try another.
It’s not ok. Think she was worried about making it worse
Sorry , I wasn't meaning to deny your reality , I just see skin on your face and I don't have anything but a translucent film of wax so I'm preoccupied with having skin again . I know it's horrible, we are trapped in nightmares . The progression is awful. I had a full face and my chin and jaw line have completely changed and the shape and contour is gone , looked through photos a lot to prove myself wrong but you can feel it first, it's so sudden you feel weird like your chin is not right and something is touching it on the sides . Anyways, I started scarring really bad and 2 months out, has your progression stopped ? Definitely don't do anymore laser . If your face still hurts don't do anything , not even facials . I saw a really good derm and she said leave it alone for 6 months , nothing . Wish I started that at thr beginning . Someone else here had fillers and their face went crazy again , our skin is chsnged permanently , if light hits me the area turns black immediately . Yes they stick to the redness to avoid the dents, scars etc . Same exact thing happened to me , but my derm is a monster , did a lot worse than that , fabricated . The good derm I saw said there is nothing else but laser down the road and even thrn can be a disaster , you can't put texture back . I hate all the likes go texture like someone took a blade to my face and thrn put waxy creatures on the surface with dimension . It's consuming my life . Try to let others know before you try anything . Sometimes we want to be better so bad we don't think straight . So sorry for what happened to you . My acupuncturist kept saying why are these machines not banned , other counties harmful devices and medications get banned and there is widespread public notification .

I am currently past 1 month of my 1st Fraxel...

I am currently past 1 month of my 1st Fraxel Restore treatment and definitely would be too afraid to continue for the 2nd one. After one month , I'm still left with this visible redness, enlarged pores, those linear and boxy pattern scar (from the shape of the tip of the laser) and what's worse is there are indented scars formed aside from the indented scar that I would like to get rid off.

So the treatment was for a chicken pox scar (from 3 years ago) , the chicken pox scars improves BUT now there are others indented scars just next to it making it looks like nothing now. The doctor also performed the laser on a bigger area then the size of the actual scar so that (box-shaped) area now is full with these linear and boxy pattern from the laser tip, enlarged pores and new indented scars here and there.

Would these linear and boxy pattern disappear? I also hope that the seemingly enlarged pores is just due to redness and it will be back by time. This is my second laser type procedure that I've done. The first one was V-Beam which somehow though it's mild and non ablative type of laser. It helped a lot levelling up the scar but not to the result that I like. I think if your skin type is prone to redness, be careful in doing a more aggresive type of laser. My skin falls between Fitzgerald 4 and 5 type, I'm of Asian descent.

Anyone suffer the same case with mine please help

Hi!
I had Fraxel Re-store with dr Calvin Chan twice and never had the same problem with you, the result was very goods. Can you share how much was you session with Dr. Joyce? I was thinking to go there.
the session costs me around SGD600. i heard about calvin chan but instead going to dr joyce. i think both have good exposure as good doctors so i'm pretty surprised with my result. do you experience flaking? if you do how long before it completely scabbed off? and how long does the redness stay?
I always heard that redness is common in laser treatment , it last for weeks .
well it's not only redness but the criss cross tracks and burnt like texture and newly formed indented scar. trust me with laser or other heat induced treatments, you're putting your skin at risk of burnt or even worst, loss of fat. please see other victims like me in this forum. if you don't experience it, you might not believe it yet.
On sorry, but your skin looks a dozen times better then your before..
ah thanks but it's really due to lightning and angles. can't get the same one each time taking the picture.
I am Caucasian/Asian descent. I had YAG laser done on the corners of my nose to get rid of some spider veins. I even had this done at a plastic surgeon's office; however, the "experienced" tech must have turned the settings too high and I got burned. Lucky me -- I could even smell the skin burning! I blistered the next, day and when the blister popped, I was left with a 2mm hole by my right nostril. I went to a dermatologist to see if there is anything that can be done for it, and she said it is a permanent scar. I see this stupid scar every day, and think why was I so stupid to fall for this crap!
hello, I know exactly how you feel. I did the same treatment many years back for the same reason, chicken pox scar from childhood. I had done the laser everywhere on my face, and it left me with a compromised skin that took 7 years to fix - I was desperate for help. sorry to tell you that it will get worst with time and that I tried countless products and dermatologists... nothing ever worked. I created a concoction of high quality potent oils and that is the only thing that worked. my skin is back now. strong and stable. go natural because your compromised skin won't react well to chemicals. my product will be available soon to help people like you and me.
Hi Mc2015 when will your products be available? What is the name of them and where can l buy? Thanks
