Stuck with Lumps

Stuck with Lumps

I had 2 injections done 3 years ago. Like everyone, it looked fine in the beginning and lately it has been looking worse and worse. My bottom lip looks smaller and it is as if the material is rolling into my lip. I have very clear bite marks on my inner lower lip at all times. My top lip is so lumpy and asymmetrical. I absolutely HATE the result. I have been advised to not use temporary fillers over the silicone because it could cause a negative reaction. So, I can’t do anything to smooth out the top lumpiness. And, I would be nervous to add any more volume to the top lip considering how much larger it already is in comparison to the lower. Now, my only option is an attempt at surgical removal. It is very difficult to find a doctor who even removes this material. 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND.
I went to a doctor who is very highly regarded, used the microdroplet technique, etc. That all made me feel more confident in the initial decision to overlook any negative reviews of the Silikon 1000 material itself, but now I regret it every single day.

I’m so sorry to hear about this migration— and thank you for being open and sharing your experience to protect others! Would you mind sharing where you had this procedure done? Was it named spa or by an MD? Do you know if they used a “micro droplet” technique?

Keeping you in my thoughts and hope you can find a good corrective provider! <3
It was done by a plastic surgeon, not at a med spa. He used the “microdroplet” technique. He has tons of positive reviews for this exact procedure so that’s why I wasn’t concerned going with him but I would imagine that a good amount of those positive reviews turn negative after a few years.
Go to Dr. Gallerani for removal. He did mine and several others with great success! The sooner you get it out, the better. It just gets worse when it starts migrating. I hope all works out for you.
*should read: “was it a med spa” not named spa!
My lips have gotten worse with time too. Who was your injector?
Dr Eric Joseph. Like I said, he has amazing reviews so I didn’t think twice when I got the procedure done.
I made the decision to get Silikon 1000 injections based on his reviews too.
Me too
Oh wow. I am worried for my own. My Dr had given me same technique and here I am years later seeing that asymmetrical lump grow and grow over time ....I love the volume but hate the asymmetry and feel that it is a give away my lips are fake :'(
I see you went to Dr. Joseph also , that's who did mine too :o
For almost 20 years, we regularly perform permanent lip augmentation treatments with microdroplet Silikon-1000. In my opinion, this is a safer option for permanent, safe and natural looking lip augmentation, compared to temporary gel fillers like HA. With any temporary filler like HA, there is risk of necrosis, blindness, or biofilm with every treatment. These complications are never seen with microdroplet Silikon-1000.

Additionally, we have not seen any cases of migration of Silikon-1000 in any of our patients. Some people may bite the inside of their lips after lip aug, and this may lead to nodularity.

We’re not sure who composed this review, but if you read this, please call us for a no charge follow up visit so we can address your concerns. Nodules or bumps may occur with any filler, including temporary gel fillers like HA, and Silikon-1000.

Any of our patients who have concerns with any procedure we perform may benefit most from visiting us for a no-charge evaluation. Nodules or bumps in the lips typically respond well to conservative treatment. If permanent lip reduction is desired, we offer this for people who may benefit. Occasionally lip bumps need to be excised, and our results have been incredible. Depending on your exam, sometimes additional lip volume needs to be added due to the aging process. I hope this is helpful to you and all of our patients. Thank you.
