Silicone Removal in Face with Face & Forehead Lift

Hi Everyone, I'm excited to let you know that finally, after 5 years of suffering, I had the dreaded substance removed from my face by, who I consider, The First Rate-Most Superior Surgeon in America! I feel that no other Surgeon could have/would have done such an outstanding job! Here is my story, over 10 years ago, I was referred to a Doctor in Fort Lauderdale for cheek fillers. Dr. Propis and Lori his CNA. I was ill advised by the material that was being promoted named Silikon 1000 that Lori injected into my face. Little did I know this material was permanent and a ticking time bomb. For it laid dormant for years then suddenly, it attacked my tissues with an eczema like reaction including staff infections... at least twice a month. I can not describe the torture and stress I went through. For the last 5 years, I was seen by at least 7 dermatologists, 2 allergists, 2 Rheumatologists (they thought it was Lupus), 3 Holistic Doctors etc...I was on and off 30mg QD of Prednisone tabs, Minocycline, Benadryl for the intense itching, Mupirocin, Bensayl cream, EpiCerum cream. You name it, I tried it. Nothing worked. I could not wash my face with water, I couldn't swim in the ocean or lay in the sun or even exercise because these activities would trigger a flare. I tried every diet hoping it would help with the redness and intense itching but even diet didn't help...sometimes the flare outs got so bad, I had to call of work, cancel parties and dates. I mostly hid in my house away from people. I was in constant fear of losing my job because of how many days and weeks I had to take off because of a flare up. I would have to get emergency IV Benadryl, Antibiotic and Prednisone at the Urgicare center down the street. I was taking all kinds of Vitamins and Glutathione to boost my immune system. I read that not everyone gets these reactions to Silicone like 1out of 1,000. Well, unfortunately, I was "the one" out of many people with Silikon injections. My dermatologist recently recommended Eucrisa topical ointment and that helped the most but it would make my skin really shiny and strange looking. There is a "Back Story" I want to include in my review...Rewinding just a bit. I reached out to Dr. Arthur Handal last year with an MRI of my face, he consulted a Radiologist and they both studied the images. He told me that the substance is everywhere. Under the muscle, in the fatty areas and between the nerves...a nightmare! I was beside myself! He thought it best to leave it alone because no one really knows how this poisonous substance will react... I knew I couldn't live this horrible existence with this poison in my face. It was ruining my whole life.. I wouldn't give up though... and I kept at him :-) I was a real pain in the ass but my persistence paid off! I knew he would be the only Plastic Surgeon in America, let alone the World, that could do this big job. I researched several Dr's in London and New York that advertised the Silikon removal but most had bad reviews and that scared me. Dr. Handal doesn't have any negative reviews in all his years of practice. I knew he was the man for the job...You see, I am a Registered Nurse and I had the opportunity to observe his work in the Operating Room long ago when I was just a student. He stood out among the other Surgeons I witnessed and I was impressed by his flawless sterile technique, and patience... he really takes his time with each case till the result is as perfect as it can get. I approached Dr. Handal again last month and I finally got a YES! I had the Silicone filler meticulously removed from my cheek area by the formidable Dr. Arthur Handal, Boca Raton! Yeah! He painstakingly removed every plastic granuloma and liquid silicone from my facial area, mostly in the cheeks. The surgery took 8 hours! I chose to sleep overnight in the Post Surgical Suite with a very kind nurse named Cindy. She was very compassionate and I appreciate her patience with me. (Nurses are the worst patient's) Anyway, I am home now and taking it easy. I have to JP drains in my cheeks draining any left over fluid. Not much today so maybe they will come out tomorrow..? I can't be more thrilled with my new face. And the rashes are gone! The poison is out! Thank You, Dr. Handal. You are and Angel sent from God to help misfortunate people like me. It's the 4th day and I will be getting my JP drains out! Still taking pain meds but spacing them out every 5-6 hours. Keeping the head up, Walking slowly for exercise, sleeping on my back with 4 pillows and resting alot. I'm excited about looking normal again or close to my "pre-fill" look.

I'm healing more and more everyday! Big improvement and no more rashes from the permanent filler. I'm so happy. I'm still sleeping upright with 3-4 pillows. and my neck and face are still swollen and bruised but not as much. I was trying to get the pictures of the filler that Dr. Handal extracted but he said it would be too graphic. Here are the latest photos.
