Very Pleased So Far with Facelift and Necklift

I lost 40 pounds this year and my face and neck looked like my skin was melting. All the healthy eating and exercise in the world can't help a 64 year old woman with loose skin, so I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Forrest Wall of Shreveport, Louisiana. I had surgery one week ago and while I still have some swelling and bruising, the difference is amazing. Dr. Wall's staff are wonderful, making me feel like they all cared. And the doctor himself has a great bedside manner, is ultra confident and meticulous. The surgery began promptly at 7 a.m. and was done in 2 and a half hours. My blood pressure went up afterwards so I couldn't leave immediately but as soon as they got it back to normal, I was out of the hospital and feeling pretty good. Absolutely no pain. Never had to take any medication.
Possibly the best thing of all is that Dr. Wall doesn't use those horrible compression bandages I have read so many complaints about. He said they are unnecessary, do not help with swelling and only make the patient uncomfortable. Whatever the case, I am thrilled not to be wearing one.
He also does a fantastic job with the sutures, they are nice and small, cleverly tucked right against my ear and hairline. I can tell they are not going to be visible at all when the hair grows back. Yay!
I slept well that night, sitting almost upright on the sofa with my head tilted back a bit. The next day, the swelling looked ghastly but I still felt fine. Mid afternoon, I got a little too frisky and found myself looking up at an EMT from the floor of my bathroom. I have no memory of passing out but there was no damage done except to my purse. I was taken to the hospital and subjected to an MRI, CAT scans and Ultrasounds.
Dr. Wall was appalled and said it was normal for a patient my age to faint after surgery and they should have called him to get a professional opinion. I was home the next day and everything has been good since then. Healing nicely. I have taken pictures every day and will post them as soon as I can figure out how. It is amazing how much the swelling and bruising changes from day to day.

Did your doctor use permanent stitches under the muscle? I have a choice and will be getting one this week. Thank you! Glad you are happy!!
