Short Scar Facelift

Short Scar Facelift

WORTH IT$11,000
I knew that genetics were not in my favor in regards to aging while growing up. My mom had her eye lift in her early 30’s and a facelift in her early 50’s. So when my jowls started to become more noticeable in my early 30’s I knew I would have work done to correct this before I was 45. The last few years have been very difficult emotionally, particularly the year of 2018. I aged a lot last year along with weight gain resulting in my jowls and neck sagging a great deal more then should be. I started by having voluma injections in my cheeks with botox around my mouth and eyes. They did a fine job but did not last the 2 years predicted and did nothing for my awful sagging neck. So I began researching other options and plastic surgeons. I was willing to travel anywhere and gratefully I found Dr Jane Rowley in Lubbock to have the most consistent positive reviews for her staff, herself and her work. I had coolsculpting at a different plastic surgeon’s office a few years ago and that awful experience lead to my months of searching for an office that was praised for all areas of the surgical experience. It took me months to get in to see her. The wait was well worth it. My first appointment I discussed all options with Dr Rowley along with what outcome I wanted. I had not researched or even considered a facelift but when we discussed the limitations the jowls have due to the nerves surrounding them and the outcomes of other options the short scare facelift long with neck lipo was what would cover everything I wanted and would be most cost effective. There is something very special about Dr Rowley and her staff. I immediately trusted her and felt very comfortable with everyone. I knew I was at the right place. So I scheduled my appointment and began prepping my home and husband for the procedure. On the morning of my procedure (May 8th) I was greeted at the office by my group of nurses who were all fantastic. I hate pain and getting an IV sucks but not this time. Quick and painless. I was then introduced to the anesthesiologist along with his nurse. Dr Rowley came in for any last questions and to prep my face. Then I was off to the surgical room in her office (so convenient!!!) for my facelift. After 4 hours I woke up and was cared for by the same nursing staff I met that morning. My husband was called to come get me when I was ready. When I felt good I left to pick up Panera Bread chicken noodle soup and went home to relax. A few hours later one side of my face appeared bigger and noticeably bruised. I call Dr Rowley’s personal cell number (seriously the best care) and she and her nurse met me at her office. Hematoma! No!! She quickly addressed the issue and schedule me for the following morning to come back. I ended up getting anesthesia and having that side cleaned up. No extra cost for any of it. I bet I talked way to much and moved around more than I should have causing the hematoma, but there is no way of knowing what caused it. The following morning I had the drain removed. I have since stayed put on my recliner watching Victoria and sipping soup. In regards to pain I have experienced a bit behind my ears. Throbbing pain and it is very sensitive when cleaning the stitches. A little goo and grossness but considering all that I had done I’m doing great. Codeine every 5-6 hours along with arnica pills and an antibiotic. I wish I would have started colace sooner. I highly suggest that. I had a check up today and all looks good. I will have the stitches removed in 2 days. I am swollen, bruised and sore but all of that is to be expected. I feel and look better everyday. I already can see the improvement in my neck. I will post pictures tomorrow and continue to update my progress.
