  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

Post op update

10 months post op.

5months post op

This is my 5th month update. This picture was taken just this Saturday when I had a dinner date with the ladies in our church.
Some are messaging me and questioning if I did not ask my doctor to trim my alars, I was really not aware that it should not be included but despite of what happened, I am still happy with the result

At first, I was only checking some reviews, pros and cons about having a rhinoplasty. Until I decided to do it, so I made my researches and have read few good reviews about Dr. Porquez (not much reviews). Since I have not read any bad reviews against Dr. Porquez, I felt like I really wanted to have him as my surgeon. I searched for Dr. Porquez over the internet and found his facebook account. Sent him a message and told him my concerns. We discussed a lot of information on how my nose is going to be done, the nose that I idolize, cost, how and when are we going to do the procedure as I was in Canada back then when I was talking to him via Facebook. I landed in the Philippines on the 27th of April, go straight to his clinic in Shaw Boulevard and did some testing and waited till 4pm for my procedure. I was asked what type of nose I wanted, eventhough we already discussed it in Facebook, but thats totally fine with me as he was just making sure that I did not change my mind. So I still told him to make it more natural looking. The procedure lasted 2 hours as it was my first. Just to let you know, I was told that it may take more than two hours if its revision. I woke up having a cast on my nose and it was bleeding. I was told to sleep facing the ceiling and use a lot of pillows. I was advised on what to do with my nose, like on how to clean it, what time, etc. He gave me list of meds to purchase that I need to consume for a week before he removed the suture. Went home. Started cleaning it based on how many times in a day it should be cleaned. Took meds as well. I did that for a whole week. A day before the big day (removal of cast and sutures), the cast fell unexpectedly, maybe because of too much oilyness of my face. I was able to see the result before the big day. It was swelling and was already thinking that I should not have this procedure done. Met Dr Porquez the next day. He checked my nose. He said, I cleaned it very well as the scar is already starting to heal. He removed some sutures, but not all. He advised me to do hot compress. Went home, still using my mask, as it was still swelling. Since I got limited time in the Philippines as I was only there for 3 weeks and needed to go back to Canada again, I was able to go out right away, go to malls, meet some of my family and friends, the following days after the big day. Honestly, it was still swelling the day after the big day and really obvious because of the swelling. But after that day, it started to subside. Few days after, i was scheduled to meet with him again to remove the remaining sutures. That day, I was no longer wearing my mask. My doctor even said that its starting to blend in my face and I was able to act as if no procedure was done on my nose, which I know as I was really confident that day. :) Hea really accommodating. Even when I came back here in Canada, we chatted still and he messaged me most of the time to get updates and if something happened like hitting my nose accidentally, he advised me of whats needed to be done. So far, its just my 1st month and 19th day. Ill be updating this post with photos.
