5 months post check-up

Today I had a check in with Dr Dan and all went really well. He was pleased with my healing and really happy with the outcome.
I’ve still felt my nose is rigid and sore in some areas and the tip is a bit swollen in my opinion. I’m hoping it will come down a little more than what it has. He didn’t seem to think there was any issues. I’ll check again at 12-18 months mark.
I guess when you have this surgery you become obsessed with staring at every single angle.
When I look back at old photos and compare I really am blown away with the changes. So the tip doesn’t seem like such a big deal. I’m overall really pleased with the outcome. Breathing better, sense of smell is coming back too. Overall it’s a life changing surgery and I’m glad I did it.

8 weeks post update

I’m off my nerve damage medication now and no headaches! Phew! I still have a full prescription in case but fingers crossed.

Something I didn’t know, that oily skin is extremely common after rhinoplasty I had no idea until last week!
I started to notice the skin on my noise has been very oily and I thought it was the heat (Summer here in Aus), but after I googled it I realized it’s a side effect of the swelling and it is a temporary common condition. I feel like I’m constantly wiping oil of my nose and it’s been like that for weeks!
I’m seeing the swelling coming down and it’s changing shape slowly but I actually feel like it’s swollen and tender.
I’m getting some nerves coming back on the nostrils and it’s been weird tingly and itchy feelings otherwise it’s still very much numb.

I’m going back to exercise tomorrow (wish me luck!) I’ve spent 2 more weeks longer than I would of liked off exercise but the headaches were really throwing me off.
I’ve been told no glasses for 12 weeks and the bridge is still super tender, I wonder if it will change within another month.
I’ll update again on the 12 week mark.
