One Year update!

WORTH IT
My nose anniversary was this Oct 15th lol. I wanted to post a quick update :)
With the season change somedays I do still swell especially if I am in and out of very heated buildings / to cold weather. Its nothing major, I will tape occasionally which still helps!
Here are some updated photos. I'm still super happy, and wish I did this years ago lol

Hey! I was wondering in your other update you mentioned your nose swelled up and you got a steroid shot, did you have to get any other steroid shots after that?
I did! Yeah it seems to be a problem for those of us with thicker skin
Thanks for replying :) Oh yes it is! Mainly on the tip, for me my tip is very oily and I'm 6 months post op and its the most swollen area. I haven't gotten any steroid shots cause I'm scared (apparently it can cause dents). Did you only get steroid shots twice, or more after that?
I got them twice! I will be seeing him this month for my last follow-up and probably one last shot. I'll update you.
and no it didnt cause a dent for me! I could feel a dent, but couldnt see it :) and overtime the feeling of the dent went away.
Ok thanks so much girl!!! Update me :)
Hey girl! Did you see Dr. Rival for your last appointment? How'd it go, did you get a steroid shot? :)
Hi love, it went well.
It helped it go down within a week *the swelling at the tip. He basically told me I might have to come back yearly for a shot as not all, but some of his thick-skinned patients do when swelling varies. This was my 4th shot.
Wow, you have to continue to get shots - without them, are you happy with the front profile? I hate swelling so much. Does the swelling go away eventually after years, imagine always having to get steroid shots :( Do you still tape at night? I continue to tape to not have a big nose in the mornings lol
Im honestly still super happy with my results. I wish my tip was a bit smaller but a revision is not worth the risk or cost for me personally. Swelling is a pain but honestly, the surgery and result are still worth it compared to my before!

As for the swelling overall - It's been getting better every year. last spring it got bad with my allergies, got a shot, and was ok until this spring. I no longer tape regularly bc my surgery was in Oct 2019. I stopped taping around April 2020 :)
Did Dr Rival do your nose too? <3
Oh thats good to hear that its worth it for you! I'm like at 7 months now and my tip is swollen and I haven't gotten any steroid shots and my doctor (not Rival) is against it! Yeah I'm definitely not going to do revision because the nose does continue to apparently slim down after 2-3 years. I just don't like persistent swelling ugh! Will be more patient lol I'm still not at one year so I defo need to be more patient :) Thanks
Thanks for all your advice and help <3
of course love!! message me if you ever have any more questions xo.
if your doctor said no shots and you really want to see if your a candidate you could always ask another doc to consult with you <3
but yes...rhinoplasty is truly a waiting game. my results at 7 months we're constantly changing still and i remember being stressed about it...we are our own worst critics sometimes! no one noticed when i was swollen lol <3
aw yes thats true, you're so sweet :) thank you so so much!
Hi! I am 9 mths post and I am not entirely pleased. Dr. Rival did NOT do my surgery.
I still have a lot of swelling all I do is pulled n my upper lip and can feel the swelling. My mood about it switches constantly. My mood swings are up and down. I asked dr rival re polybeak and asymmetry, my tip has also dropped, but he said further surgery would not be beneficial and did not mention steroid shots. Ugh I know it could look worse but it’s so hard to feel good about it. I too can see my nose worse in the morning. I guess gravity pulls it down during the day.
It’s so hard to accept oneself the way they are.
That’s a great result! Glad you’re enjoying it!

July update

I’m more in love with my nose !! It really started to swell up in the tip area again around March. I contacted dr Rival and by mid June he did a steroid shot. It was a longer wait to get the shot due to current circumstances.
After the shot the slope defiantly started to come out again.
