I had a severe deviated septum and crooked nose from a childhood accident

I was referred to Dr. Bonaparte by my family physician after having undergone surgery in which it was noted that I had a sever deviated septum and crooked nose from a childhood accident. I must say that it was sheer benevolence or luck that Dr. Bonaparte was my surgeon. I was never happy with my nose, but I did not consider cosmetic surgery until Dr. B and I had an extensive discussion about my expectations and desires for the outcome for functional and cosmetic results. From the very beginning Dr. Bonaparte explained the pros and cons of having a septo-rhinoplasty (portion covered by OHIP) versus simply the septoplasty surgery (covered entirely by OHIP). I never felt pressured to opt for the cosmetic surgery and his assistant Nancy gave me a quote that was valid for 6 months post consult date, so I had the time to think about what I wanted and make an informed decision. The price point was also far less (average 3-5k) than other surgeons in the Ottawa, Montreal, and Toronto area. In the end, I opted for the septo-rhinoplasty as self-confidence is priceless! Dr. Bonaparte is an artist! The Michelangelo of modern cosmetic surgery in addition to being a certified ENT, my results (I am still healing 3 months post op with thick skin aged 25 and mixed ethnicity) exceeded my expectations and desires! I breathe so much easier, my face is perfectly symmetrical, and I have the nose of my dreams from the front and profile view!
I have heard a lot of women say they wish to go abroad and get their noses done since there are not many differences made with ‘Western’ cosmetic surgeons, but this is not the case here! Save your money, worries, and reduce travel risks and seriously consider opting for a consult with Dr. Bonaparte. Dr. B is very attentive, listens to what you want, and provides realistic opinions on what is the best functionally for your health in addition to your beauty standards. I would 100% recommend Dr. B at the Ottawa Derm Centre for any rhinoplasty procedure and aftercare.
P.S. Unrelated to my septo-rhinoplasty, Dr. B is also a phenomenal ENT and provides such excellent care that goes above and beyond. I was over 30 minutes late for a post-op check-in appointment due to traffic and I saw Dr. B leaving the office in the parking lot. I said, “Hi Dr. B” and he immediately went back inside with me to check on my healing. He noticed I had a complication from another surgery site and provided care on the spot in addition to sending my other ENT surgeon an email to have him see me ASAP. This is just an everyday occurrence and shows that this is a surgeon who really cares about his patients and their well-being. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Bonaparte and I hold him in high regard as a surgeon and as a human being. If you are concerned about undergoing cosmetic surgery due to its price point, I can assure you that the price for the level of care, compassion, artistry and benevolence far outweighs the cost!
