Forgot to post before pictures, did double eyelid surgery too but because of privacy reasons, decided to cover up eyes. Even with the eyes covered up, the change is enormous. Really happy with the results and in the future, if I want to get more done, will definitely go to the same place! Many thanks!
JW Surgery
Just wanted to write a review for the fantastic job they did! After the consultation, which I also did a review on, I was still quite nervous in terms of the results, but the lady in charge of translating for me, Emily and the surgeons assured me everything would be fine, so with a worried heart, I decided to go for it! Everything was explained to me before I went into the surgery, including the medications I would receive and how I would feel after I come out and such. I wanted to share with everyone my experiences with this clinic and also how each day went for me.
Surgeries done:
Rhinoplasty
Advanced Sliding Genioplasty
Blepharoplasty
Day 1:
To be honest, after coming out of the surgery room, apart from feeling light headed, I didn't feel any pain because of the anaesthetic. I was asleep for most of the surgery, so I can't say anything about that, but overall, there was no pain, and only discomfort. I was actually feeling well enough to take a picture right after coming out of the surgery and lying on bed, with my mothers help of course!
After all the excitement calmed down, the discomfort kicked in. I became really really hungry, but was unable to take any solid food, so could only drink water and soy milk. After a few hours passed, I slowly became more conscious and aware of what was happening around me, and realised how difficult it was to breathe! There was a significant amount of phlegm down my throat, and because of the fact that I had 3 surgeries done at once, I was not able to see, breathe nor eat and talk properly. I was given instructions by Emily and took a taxi and went back to the hotel. For obvious reasons, I did not get a good sleep, and after the anaesthetic wore down, I just felt horrible. It wasn't painful, but just really, really uncomfortable. I could only lie there for around 6 more hours waiting for the next day to arrive.
Day 2 - 5:
I just felt horrible overall. Imagine lying there, just focusing on breathing. Thats how I had felt but for 72 hours. I was also very thankful for my mum for taking care of me every single day, but I also felt very bad since I quite literally couldn't do anything on my own. I just felt lightheaded when I got up, I couldn't see even when I managed to get up, and I also couldn't eat properly. I was also given several medications to take/apply everyday which my mum did for me. There was nothing I could eat apart from liquids, which was quite sad, and at night, I just stayed awake, waiting for the horrible time to end. I just passed these days getting de-swelling treatment, taking medication and just getting checkups now and then.
Day 6 - 10:
Starting from day 6 of the post operative days, I started to get significantly better. My eyes were finally healing down, I could slightly chew, but still had to be careful and I could even breathe! After healing, though still VERY swollen, I could slightly see the results of the surgery and could tell they did a pretty good job. The eyes were very uneven, but I was told during the consultation that it was normal. I was very careful with my nose, since I was scared the implant might become out of place if touched and such. I also had de-swelling treatment and lots of checkups which were good.
1 Week - 2 Weeks:
Lots of people were looking my way after my nose cast was taken off, which made me feel very beautiful! Although the clinic was super busy (and I mean VERY busy) they still made sure to take care of me and checkup on me often. My mum and I made sure to fit some shopping in by the end of the 2 weeks since I was feeling well enough and still had lots of shopping to do.
Conclusion:
For people who thought that Korean hotels and plastic surgery clinic take advantage of foreigners and such, I just wanted to say that I don't think thats true. Although this is based on my personal experience and opinion, I had talked to a lot of people when I went there (there were lots of foreigners and Chinese people) both in Chinese and english and I had found out a lot of things. Such as how yes, there were PLENTY of cheaper clinics, but not all did a good job. There was a lady there who told us about the clinic she and her daughter went to, and asked us how we were doing since her daughter was suffering every single day from her surgeries. The difference between us weren't the results (since I couldn't tell at the time) but the treatment of them. They weren't given instructions on what to do, nor what medications to take. The clinic basically just sent them home after surgery and that was that! I really felt bad for them at the time, but even if this sounds mean, I was also kind of glad I didn't go to a cheaper place like them. The price for JW Clinic is actually much higher than some other clinics, but I would gladly pay that price if it meant good postoperative care and results.
However, I wanted to warn others of the hotels in Korea that really take advantage of foreigners! WE found out that they had charged us DOUBLE of what they charged locals and some Chinese customers after we talked to them! Since we had already given them the money, we couldn't really do much, but I just wanted to let others know of this just in case, in the future they plan to book a hotel.

It has been around 6 weeks now, when I'm writing this review, and all my friends have been telling me how different I look! So many people tell me how pretty I am, and have made me feel really good. I'm writing this review mainly to thank JW Clinic and their staff for doing such a good job, and for how lovely their service have been. During the healing process, I had bombarded poor Emily with questions and insecurities at around 3am time! I felt really bad, but she was really patient with me and had answered every single one of my questions. Thank you JW Clinic and all the staff!

Hi Guys! For a long time now, I’ve been wanting to have some work done on my face, and finally have saved up enough money to go to Korea to get Rhinoplasty, sliding Genioplasty and Double Eyelid Surgery. I just wanted to write a review on how the consultations went for me personally and my thoughts on which were good and bad.
So the clinics I were considering at the time were:
JW
JK
MVP
JW
Pros: Polite and friendly
Answers all questions asked!
Quick to reply
Decent English Cons:
Suspiciously barely any bad reviews on anything (though this may just be my paranoia talking)
Old fashioned and unprofessional website (currently getting renewed)
Expensive prices
Thoughts:
When I first contacted JW, they took a while to respond, but once they did, it didn’t take long for them to reply. The lady I was emailing was named Emily and I was super impressed with the fact that she answered all my questions! (Since I bombarded her with literally all my insecurities in one go)
To be honest, even though in the end, I decided to go with JW, in the beginning, the website looked so unprofessional, it really managed to put me off.... I took one look at their website and thought ‘this is definitely a scam!’ And decided to leave it in case the other clinics I contacted didn’t work out. I literally tried to find any other clinic with decent reviews (because their website really managed to bother me) and contacted them. Some were rude and some I later found out through my korean friends who had some surgeries done, were avoided by locals! In the end, I went with JW in the end, purely because I was impressed with the customer service skills of Emily, and the reviews written on the surgeries.
JK
Pros:
Professional website
Fluent English
Decent reviews on double eyelid surgeon
Cons:
Completely rude staff!
Very slow replies
Doesn’t care about answering questions
Sky high prices
Thoughts:
This one was literally the exact opposite of JW. Even if the names sound the same, I cannot even tell people how much this one managed to disappoint me. Unfortunately, I already deleted the emails I’ve exchanged with this girl named Jenny, but if I still had them, I would’ve taken several screenshots of them and posted them for the world to see how rude she was! At first, the website really managed to draw me in, it was professional and clean, with lovely before and after pictures. JK quickly became my first choice, and I immediately contacted them to get a quote and consultation booked. But before all that, I had some questions to ask, since I was super worried about my surgeries. Although I understand that I had come across a little strange as I bombarded Jenny with so many questions, I never really thought that the emails I took so long to write wouldn’t even get replied to! Well, that’s a bit of a lie, since she did REPLY to the email, but didn’t bother answering any of my questions! I had asked her so many questions such as price, recommended surgeries, dates, etc, but she’ll only reply to the ones that suited her interests! I really cannot understand why she’s getting paid to steer customers away from the very clinic she works for! It took several emails for her to acknowledge the fact that I wanted Sliding Genioplasty and not an implant! Before anyone comes and says that I was just impatient, let me just say, I waited several days before getting a response from her for even a single question. Sometimes, it would be as bad as waiting a week before getting a reply that didn’t answer any of my questions. The last straw was when I told her that my time was different from the time in Korea, so we would need to do a FaceTime consultation when it suited both of us. She made a slight acknowledgment of what I said and I had stupidly believed her. Come a few days later, I get FaceTimed at 1-2am when I specifically told her I couldn’t answer at that time since I had work the next day. It’s just such a shame since JK looked really professional and I really liked one of the surgeons there who did double eyelid surgery. But to be honest, I really can’t say I would want to go anywhere near a clinic who can’t even control their staff properly!
MVP
Pros:
Super quick replies
Low and reasonable prices
Lovely customer service
Cons:
Bad reviews and reputation
Thoughts:
This is the clinic I briefly considered after JW quoted me super high prices. I was actually very impressed with their customer service and had thought about booking the consultation. Unfortunately, after searching around for a long time, I heard some bad things about them and decided to not risk it. But overall, they didn’t do anything bad to me and were actually very lovely. So although I’m unsure about the bad reviews, I was quite happy with them overall. Plus, in most cases, people use the word botched way too often, especially when they don’t like the end results.
Final thoughts:
Even though price for me is extremely important, it’s not something I would bet with a surgical knife to my face. I had really wanted to go to MVP because of their low prices, but too many of what my friends and family said put me off so in the end I went with JW. Although I wasn’t sure if what others wrote about MVP were true or not, I was just genuinely too scared to risk it :( I contacted Emily again on WhatsApp and we messaged each other for ages before deciding a surgery date. I decided to go on 17th May to Korea to get some shopping done and get the surgeries done on 23rd...... so nervous!
Please note, these are solely based on my opinion may differ from others. I can understand if someone finds some of the things I said too harsh and I apologise for that, but that is what I personally experienced.
I hope this helped anyone looking for surgery in Korea, and I will be sure to post my before and after pictures after I get surgery! :)
