Full Face Fat Grafting / Rhinoplasty / Blepharoplasty - Seoul, South Korea

At 36, I had terrible huge bags under my eyes. I've been using filler for about a year but I didn't want to do that forever. I also started to notice my face taking on a angular hard look as I started to lose more volume in the face.
After doing months of research, I decided to get a full face fat graft, rhinoplasty and lower eye blepharoplasty (I've always wanted to fix my nose - and after trying out a filler for my nose bridge and tip - which I LOVED - I decided to go ahead with it).
I am 12 days post op. And currently like my new nose. There's still quite a bit of swelling between the eyes but I can tell it's going to look good.
The jury's still out on the fat graft. I was injected fat onto my forehead, temples, under the eyes, hallows of the cheeks, laugh lines and chin. If you've read there isn't much downtime, that is a total lie. I'm a quick healer but the swelling I had with the fat graft was ridiculous. I looked like quasimodo the first week after surgery. My left eye was almost swollen shut, couldn't move my mouth at all, and I looked like a giant lizard monster. I had some bruising on the face - around one eye and bottom jaw. I also had a tiny lump on my forehead which I massaged and then it went away.
But the swelling is going down day by day - I almost look human today. :) I can tell tho that it's on the way to looking good - not quite there, but maybe in another week.
I'm still too swollen to see about the under eyes.
Overall no discomfort on my face after the surgery except the donor site (both inner and outer thighs). I can't believe how painful that was, walking around, getting up, sitting down, etc. Very bruised. They take the fat from where it's most resilient. But on the plus side - thinner thighs! hooray!
There are a lot of negative reviews for fat grafting so I wanted to share my experience.
I got all my surgeries in Korea. After doing research, I realized that they do the best faces! They seem to have a different technique than US doctors - they don't overfill, they take into account the symmetry of your face and have an eye for where the fat should go and if necessary, they will touch you up for a lesser fee. And honestly, I feel like they have the most experience. These doctors have done thousands of fat grafts - everyone in Asia gets them (that's why they all look so young - haha)! Every single Korean celebrity has had it and even girls in their 20's start to get them. Also, the costs are so much less than in the US. For all 3 services it was just over 6k. Fat graft = 2k, nose = 3k, under eyes = 1k.
here's a great link on a fat graft process that I found helpful:

I will update once the swelling settles.

UPDATED FROM sammyfromlosangeles
22 days post
4 week update
sammyfromlosangelesMay 25, 2013
At 4 weeks, I absolutely love my fat graft results. My face looks very young and well rested. I could lose about 10% more especially around my cheeks but other than that, I look great! My only complaint is that I still have swelling on my left eye from my lower eye surgery. 4 weeks seems like a long time to still have swelling... :/ But I'm massaging every day so hopefully that will go away soon.

Hi there, so nice to read your review. I have been searching for info on fat graft in Korea and have considered Grand. If u don't mind me asking, how much was UR procedure for fat graft? How much fat do U anticipate to stay? Your response would be very helpful in my decision making. As much as I want to go to Korea for the procedure, I'm also very scared too.

I think the fat full face was around 2k. personally I would not recommend grand - they are just too large and it didn't feel like a personal consultation/surgery. the doctor ended up putting fat in places I didn't request (altho in the end, it looks good). Also, you must know that the recovery time is at least a month. I looked awful for that whole time.
I'd say at least 50% has stayed so far. A bit too much for my taste, I'd still like for some of it to go away. If I were to go again, I would like to go to Regen.
Good luck!

Wow... thanks for the info, its actually very helpful. I'm just curious, why would u rather go to Regen? Have u seen results from there? I didn't realize that it would take a month to heal... that's the downside I guess. I'm really glad your results turned out good, I'm sure some of the fat will dicipate to your desired look! :)

Regen seems to have better fat graft results - imo. Good luck in choosing a place!

Hi there,
How is the result now after two years? I am thinking of going over too to make a revision of my eyes and fat grafting under eyes and temples?
Thanks you
