This is an update as of 6-7 weeks - the latest photos were taken last week. I feel pretty much back to normal other than still feeling pretty swollen and puffy. At my four week appointment my doc said I was still about 30% more swollen than I will be and I'm guessing I've only gone down another 8-10% since then. So I still have a while to go before I'll see the full results. I'm super happy as it stands, though. I really need to lose the last of this weight, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm just so much more confident about my stomach now! I'll post again at 8 weeks, but I think progress is much slower and less noticeable now. Time to start running again!

Week 4 Update

Time is really flying by now! I'm feeling great - practically back to normal other than bending over. I'm still so swollen that it just feels weird and uncomfortable. I'm definitely standing all the way straight now but still feel a tiny bit tight after standing from a sitting position for a long period of time. Zero infection thus far and at this point I'd be surprised if anything happened. I don't feel like I look much different from week 3 to 4 other than not being quite as swollen. It really doesn't seem like much changed in that department. My scar (not calling it "incision" much anymore) has dropped most of the scabs this week and its flattening out a LOT. I'm extremely happy and know that once all of the swelling abates I'll be thrilled! I've started eating mostly whole foods this week and cannot wait to get back to the gym! I'm hoping that my update pics will start showing some toning and fat loss soon! Can't wait till my first summer in 15 years without a big saggy tummy!

Week 3 Update

Time is definitely flying by now! Today is 3 weeks post op, or 21 days after the date of my surgery. The biggest improvement is that I'm able to stand almost completely upright now. I can't put my shoulders back all the way yet and my abdomen still feels pretty tight and stiff after getting up from a sitting position. I had my Dr. apt yesterday (I love my wonderful doc and his staff!) and he said I'm out of the woods as far as the whole skin healing goes and that the dark spot was just scar tissue that'll likely dissipate over time. The spot is getting smaller every day, so that's great news. I hadn't thought there was much difference from week to week until I put these pics together today and I'm actually looking much less red and puffy now. We got the go ahead for sexy biz but no gym for three more weeks! I neeeeed to go to the gym. I'm realizing that the biggest shocker now is getting used to my flat, pretty frontside and then looking at my backside and thinking, " WHY IS THERE A NAKED GRANNIE IN MY ROOM??" I mean, no. Just no. She can't stay here.

Thanks so much! I'm so glad I've taken pics because I think otherwise I'd get discouraged. It seems like such slow progress sometimes but considering we get cut in half and put back together it's lightening fast!
