It was 5 long years of poor body image after...
It was 5 long years of poor body image after having my son when I decided to take action. I had lost the majority of my baby weight and have a healthy diet. I was working with a personal trainer 2 times a week with an active lifestyle. I finally came to the conclusion that diet and exercise, although necessary, were not going to get rid of the excess stretched out skin and diastasis (separation) of my abdominal muscles. After months of thinking about the pros and cons and trying to convince my husband it was a good idea I finally made an appointment with Dr. Salemy in Seattle. I was immediately impressed with the clean and professional office. I met Dr. Salemy and explained to him how I felt about my stomach. He was very kind and understanding. I was impressed with his knowledge and perfectionism and immediately knew that he was the Doctor I wanted for my surgery. I have a high belly button so I had two options. A high horizontal incision or lower with a vertical. We decided to make the incision low on the hips with a small vertical scar up the middle. After a few month of preparation and making sure I had enough help (my husband took off work for week 1post op and my mom came in town for week 2) I went in for surgery on April 20, 2015. The surgery itself was very fast and I was able to go home the same day. Believe all the other reviews when it says it takes a few weeks-a few months to be able to function on a basic level. It was painful, but manageable, and COMPLETELY worth it. I am writing this review at my 6 month mark and I can without a doubt say that I am so very happy with my decision to get a tummy tuck. My clothing fits properly now and I don't have to worry about disguising my tummy all the time, which was exhausting. Dr. Salemy has given me back my body and my confidence which to me is priceless.
