Pre op appt Monday 3/25/2019

Pre op appt with Bobek Monday. Looking forward to having these screws out around my nose. I can feel hard lumps through my skin. A little concerned about how much swelling I'll experience and how long it will last. I'm almost 9 mos post op and the swelling from the djs last summer is finally down most days unless I eat much salt. I'm going to have Bobek fix the fold behind my last molar in the skin that collects food. It's a pain. Looking forward to having this all done. Date is now April 4th for hardware removal. Also...numbness is still pretty bad. Hasn't gotten better.

Having hardware removed in April

Saw Dr Bobek Feb 5th and decided to have the hardware removed. He will take it out April 3rd. I'll have Spring Break to recover. He is still concerned about the nerve damage and we will have a pre-op appt before surgery to discuss what to do about that. I still have a little skin fold back by last molar in far back of my mouth where food gets stuck..he said he can close that. Dr Bobek wrote a referral for speech therapy for me and I'll start that next week as well. So things are coming along. Swelling is about gone finally. Things look so much better. Haha..now to shake things up by having hardware removed. Hopefully the swelling won't be too bad.

Appt with Bobek tomorrow

It's Feb 3rd. I'm 7 mos and 1 week post op. Tomorrow I see Dr Bobek and discuss my numbness. Hos plan is to do a CT scan and See if he can find the problem with the nerve. I know he was hoping things would have resolved themselves by this time...but truthfully I don't think things have gotten any better with the chin and tooth numbness since I saw him in November. Im curious to see what his ideas are.

Provider Review

Dr. Dale Bloomquist

***Updated April 28th, 2018.****I have not had a very good experience with Dr.Bloomquist. Before surgery things were fine...but as soon as it was obvious there were problems with his work during surgery he wanted to release me to my ortho. My ortho Dr You at Willamette Dental is awesome...he was very concerned with my bite and found another surgeon ( Dr Bobek) for me to see for a second opinion. It was obvious that things were really messed up and much worse than before surgery...with both my bite and my chin which had been moved back too far...leading to a host of other problems...including now needing a neck lift from excess skin. Bloomquist's letter to my ortho when questioned was curt and noncommital. My ortho has stopped referring patients to him and now is referring to Dr. Bobek. l did go see Bloomquist again at 7 mos post op to hear what his plan was ( or was there one) about my botched surgery. He did offer to redo the surgery...his fee being free. He knows its all messed up. I dont feel comfortable with what he has proposed he would do during a second surgery which included 2 chin implants and doing a single jaw revision surgery. The first surgery with Bloomquist was only 2.5 hours and he said the same for a second...which according to Dr Bobek, would need to be more extensive and his estimation is closer to 5 hours. Bloomquist also said I would need to pay for the hospital charge if I opted to have him do it again. I would strongly not recommend Dr Bloomquist according to my experience with him.
