Not Nearly As Painful As Reviews Say!

I had my first liposonix treatment yesterday with Cheryl at Pacific Dermatology and it was a really good experience. I'd read a ton of the reviews on here beforehand because I wanted to know what I was getting myself into and they honestly totally freaked me out. I'm sure this experience varies a lot from person to person and the technician performing the treatment likely has a lot to do with how painful it can be as well (also, probably the medication they put you on - I had oxycodone and valium) - but this was WAY easier than I'd prepared myself for. I'm not by any means saying it was painless - it definitely hurt - but it was totally tolerable and I would definitely do it again. I've had laser hair removal on my armpits and a tattoo so I was trying to compare the pain to those experiences beforehand - it wasn't similar. The type of pain depended on where the ultrasound was focused because the pain has to do with the nerves underneath your skin. Sometimes it felt like a deep cramping, almost like a really bad period, but between my rib cage because I was having the procedure done on my back. Sometimes it felt more like stinging - I've never been stung by a bee before (weird, I know - knock on wood) but I imagine it was similar to that sensation. Still - totally doable. I had 8 squares done, 4 on each side of my back, and each square takes 5 70-second "passes" to complete - so all in all, my procedure took 40 passes or about an hour total. After it was over I felt totally fine. I was on my feet and out the door into my uber home with only a little soreness on my back as a reminder of what I'd just gone through (the soreness was a slight sensitivity akin to having being squeezed too tight by someone strong). I woke up this morning feeling totally normal and with no bruises whatsoever. It takes 8-12 weeks to see the effects of the treatment but I'm 100% certain it will work (it's science) and I'll probably go back in for another round on my back and a little bit of treatment on my upper stomach sometime in the new year. It's important to note that, like they say, this treatment is not for people with a lot of weight to lose! I'm in really good shape and generally pretty happy with my body. I'm not super skinny but I'm definitely slender (I've worked hard for my body by eating right and exercising regularly). I also don't want to be super skinny - I love having curves. People carry weight in different places based on their genetics and for some reason I just tend to carry it on my back. No amount of exercise or dieting has ever been able to resolve this for me so I decided to do something about it because it's always been an area I'm self conscious about - same with my stomach. For the most part I'm happy but I have a little pooch I can't get rid of so I'll probably take care of it with liposonix too - but I really do only have an inch to pinch there and on my back (maybe a tiny bit more on my back which is why I might consider two rounds there) - so this was the right solution for me. Don't do it if you have more than an inch to lose or if you haven't already committed yourself to a healthy lifestyle.

Pics please - love to see your results as they progress!

Did you consider other treatment options like CoolSculpting before going with Liposonix?

Thank you for your review. I am happy with my body but really want to break up with my back fat lol! I was so nervous about having this procedure on my back. How did you like your results? Did you op for another round?
