Hi, this is my BA journey! I'm scheduled to go in for surgery this Tuesday, March 15th with Dr. Salemy (read my review if looking for a PS in Washington state!) through the periareolar incision.

I've fantasized about having boobs since I realized that puberty completely skipped the development of my breasts in middle school..and I've waited long enough! I definitely have curves (small waist, big hips and booty), so I look exceedingly disproportionate with my small chest and seemingly large areolas.

Background: I plan on having one child with my husband (and adopting any more following), which brought on several concerns and questions. Many people assume and are quick to judge BAs - especially through the areola incision. At first, I thought "there's no way that's happening", but after extensive research and questions asked during my initial consultations with two plastic surgeons, I'm going for it because I have the utmost respect and trust in Dr. Salemy's method, advice, and artistry. He blew me away with his genuine compassion, understanding, and overall persona when meeting with him at my consultation and pre-op appointment.

Advice: I would recommended writing down a list of any and all questions for every appointment -- do NOT be afraid to ask! This is your body and you deserve to know every detail! Also, this website helped A LOT. I enjoy reading reviews in general -- word of mouth is so incredibly useful, so do as much research on your own as possible.

Side note: The first PS only uses Mentor while Dr. Salemy uses mainly Allergan, however will accommodate someone who requests a different brand. The first doctor also only does the inframammary incision, claiming to have perfected it (which is great!)..however, Dr. Salemy said based on my anatomy and lack of breast tissue/crease, it would be risky and not something he would recommend for Me in case the scarring moves up (meaning more pain and money to fix in the future).

This year I really started to think about this surgery, and I decided I wanted to have it done as soon as possible, since I feel it's the best time after waiting for ten years to make the decision. Plus, it helps that I'm in the most flexible place in my life right now. I'm stoked to post post-op pictures and continue sharing my story.

Thanks for reading!
Hopefully this helps you!

We're the same size so I understand how you feel!!! What size are you trying to achieve? Are you debating on silicone or saline?!

That's comforting knowing I'm not alone. I feel like an alien when I'm naked, but I'm a tad harsh on that aspect of my body. I've decided on silicone! How about you?

That's so weird, I thought I specified silicone *face palm*

The Natrelle implants are the least filled in comparison to the Mentor, meaning there's more cohesive gel and less fluid..so if they rupture, there's much less toxicity in your body. I also am not fond of the look or process of the saline, and have heard many stories about several surgeries because they continue to deflate, ripple, etc.. But that's just my opinion!

Good luck on your surgery tomorrow!! I am also thinking about getting the periareolar incision and 450 CC's. I'll be following your progress :)

Awesome, I'm happy to help in any way I can! I'm feeling all kinds of emotions before surgery this afternoon. I have to wait until 3pm PST, which is 15 hours without food or water, so that part isn't fun. But I'm stoked it's finally the day! I'll be updating more later :)

3/15/16: Day of surgery!

3pm check-in time, and about 4pm surgery time!
After being directed to the pre-op room, I spoke with one of the ladies who would be assisting in my surgery, then Dr. Salemy so he could mark my chest and talk, then finally the anesthesiologist came in to explain her role and ask if I had questions. I did not particularly like her. She was awkward, not welcoming, and pretty rude. I've had one doctor tell me that I have "crappy veins" in the past, which other doctors I've told said that's completely unacceptable and not true. She was going back and forth between arms to figure out which one to set up the IV in, and I mentioned that comment made by a past doctor as a light joke, and she laughed awkwardly saying "yeah..." BUT I wasn't about to let her ruin my experience because of her cold and bad attitude. Instead, I focused on the fact they had throwback music playing like surround sound and how comfortable I was with my legs in this warming pad. When she finally put the IV in, I felt no pain, then the mask...and I was out! When I woke up, I had my pants on already and vaguely remember being transported in a wheelchair down the elevator and helped into my mom's car out front. As soon as I was buckled in, I smelled this strong alcohol aroma and immediately felt like I had to throw up, but at this point, I was at 18 hours without food or water and had nothing in my system to do so..I ended up just spitting in the bag they gave me. On top of that, my boobs were obviously tender, so it hurt to drive through the bumpy streets of Seattle and over any speed bumps. We picked up my prescriptions on the way home, and then started loading me up with food and water as soon as I made it inside. I ate a few things after taking the pain meds, then the muscle relaxer, and then I got a big whiff of that strong nauseating alcohol smell, felt nauseous and threw up everything into the hospital bag.. I immediately felt better though, so that was nice! Lol. It was exceedingly frustrating not to be able to do anything on my own; I was barely able to lift my arms to eat, get dressed by my mom/sister, open doors, brush my teeth, wash my face, etc.. When it was time for bed, my mom patiently spent at least a half hour moving pillows around, folding blankets up, placing them all different ways in effort to find a comfortable position for me sleep in. I woke up several times during the night, having to pee and readjust..so I ended up not even using a pillow on her temper pedic bed and slept a heck of a lot better.
