Just had a consult with Dr Salemy for a breast augmentation. I'm 33 yrs old, 5'6" & 140lbs. I breast fed 2 kids (total of 4 years breastfeeding) and my boobs have lost their perkiness :(. Currently a 34B, was in a D cup when I was at the peak of breastfeeding. Would like to be a full C. PS said I could get a good result with saline or silicone, but he far prefers silicone. Tried sizers & liked the look of 265cc, PS recommended going with 295cc since they will be under the muscle. I really liked Dr Salemy (he was the second PS I had a consult with). I will be calling Monday to set a date! Now I just have to decide saline or silicone?! I'm really having a hard time deciding.

Dr Salemy did my augmentation and I love my results and how I was treated by him and his staff. I personally went with silicone because I liked the feel of it compared to the harder feel of the saline.

Leaning toward silicone, but still not sure. Thanks for the input

I consulted with two docs, including Dr. Salemy (who seemed great, btw, but I ultimately chose the second doc I consulted with and am scheduled for 12/30), and it didn't seem like saline was even presented as a viable option. The impression I had was "sure, it can be done, if you ask for that," but from what I've been told, the results will be a lot better with silicone, and the only real "benefit" of saline is that you know immediately if it's ruptured. But since silicone is now "cohesive" it supposedly doesn't really "leak" into your body if it ruptures; it just sits there. Since silicon implants are different than the ones of yester-year, they really don't scare me like the old ones used to. I felt safer about using silicone also after reading about a variety of other implants that contain silicone (including ones used in the heart) and after reading that silicone breast implants are the most studied human medical device in history. With whatever you choose, best of luck!

Thank you so much for all your photos before and after. Extremely helpful to see your results as I am similar to you. Looks fantastic!

You're welcome & thank you! Figured I would do a review because there's not that many out there for 300 cc's and under. Not sure if I mentioned it anywhere but the PS said I was borderline needing a lift especially on the one side, but that I would probably have decent results without the lift.

I searched everywhere to find women who did under 300 and who were borderline needing a lift. You were honestly the only one that had so much helpful info and photos. I'm also borderline- they call it pseudo ptsosis...I really wanted to avoid a lift as scars really bother me so my doctor said I can most likely do just the augmentation. My surgery is this Monday and I've been a wreck and so indecisive about if I'm selecting the correct size or not. I'm doing 235cc and 255cc (assymetry) but I'm also starting with a little more natural breast - 32C. Doctor says I'll be a D with these cc's. I would be really happy if my results turn out like yours. I'll keep you posted!

Monday, that's so exciting! I was super indecisive and nervous about size leading up to the surgery also. I stuck to my original decision on cc's and I'm glad that I did. I'll be one month PO on Monday & they finally feel like a part of me. I am loving them. I'm really happy with the size. Good luck! Let me know how it goes.

Moderate profile. I was surprised at the projection I got with just moderate profile.

Did you feel Dr. Salemy was attentive to you or that he was more rushed. My husband's co worker says she felt that he was very competent but also kind of rushed

I feel like he took the time to answer my questions & concerns & that he is very good at what he does. He is in and out of the room pretty quickly, I can see how some people might feel rushed. I had a list of the things i wanted to talk about and we talked about everything. It felt quick, but I didn't have a whole lot of questions & my surgery & healing was pretty straightforward forward, so there wasn't really any need for him to spend a lot of time with me. I feel like if I had more questions or complications that he would take the time needed to talk with me about it. He had a good bedside manner, not rude or cold at all. I would go back if I wanted anything else done & I would recommend him to friends and family.

Date is set...January 19th!!! Pre op on Jan 4th. Still can't decide on saline or silicone. Worried 295 cc will be too big? I don't want huge boobs, just want them filled back up. Posting before pics.

I Googled how to make rice sizers and made some to wear around the house (in a tight sports bra) it gave me a good idea what it would look and feel like. The bonus is my grand kids have some fun rice bags to play with now haha.

Food advice for after surgery?

User Avatar
smalltownmama
Had my pre op yesterday, feeling both excited & nervous. Since we don't
Iive in the area We wil be staying overnight in Seattle after surgery, that way I won't have to sit through a long drive for my next day post op apt. My surgery is supposed to be the morning of the 19th, wondering what type of food/snacks to pack for later that day? Would love to hear from other ladies on how they felt the day of surgery, are you even hungry for dinner that night, did you feel like real food? Any advice is appreciated. 12 days & counting!!!

I live over 3 hours away so we stayed at the silver cloud hotel which is just a couple of blocks away from Dr salemy's office. I was starved afterward but could only get down crackers directly after the surgery and that was so I could take my pain medication. I have read that a lot of ladies drink a protein shake like ensure afterward until your tummy settles down. I totally lost my appetite for about 4 days so forced myself to eat crackers and applesauce to take medicine with, and lots of water.

Thank you. I'll be sure to pack some broth to sip on & crackers, along with a bit of real food in case I am able to eat.

I totally agree that you won't have a huge appetite afterwards. Maybe just crackers and soup and light foods. Protein will def help you to get your strength back afterwards. After a few days you will feel back to a more improved self!
