I had the PDO Thread Lift In the U.K at the beginning of June. I paid just over £900. This is a lot of money if it does not work and it was a total waste of my money. The picture of my face is no different just over 2 months later. The procedure was not to painful I would say it was uncomfortable. I would not recommend this procedure. You may as well throw your money away!

Thank you for sharing your experience on RealSelf!

Can you tell us who your doctor was?
Hi there - I had exactly the same experience from a clinic in Milton Keynes, UK. I had my treatment in July, never had a worry that Botox could not resolve until the new clinic said I need to resolve my lower check lines with a thread life...nightmare. Only now at the end of October do I feel confident that I look presentable, had to take 4 weeks off work and still have 2 granulomas, poking threads and thickening collagen lumps. I had the threads removed 10 weeks after the impact and shooting pains down my face. I'd be curious to know if it was the same clinic but I am seeking legal advise and don't want to name shame in case I compromise...

How many threads did you have placed, like you I had plain and barbed cogs? Hope your OK and managed to get through the ordeal.
Note: Had to go to a different plastic surgeon for removal as I could not mentally visit the clinic again..
Lastly, I think before you take legal action you have to give the relevant clinic the opportunity to make the situation better as in reimburse you , so maybe try that first Sore face. It is very cathartic being able to say
These things to the people concerned x
Hi can you tell me how many threads you had? And what brand name was it? I am booked in for this soon
Thank you so much for your reply. What a nasty experience, so shocking that this can happen and it seems that MK has many clinics opening preaching the same pdo thread message.
My story is similar to yours, but not settled yet. I am talking with the clinic, I had paid £1300 for lower cheek lift, 5 cogs and 10 plain threads plus botox at £450 for 3 areas...not sure what I was thinking! My face on the left side was so different to the right and very sore. Went back and was told it would settle and I would see an improvement, however it did not and the clinic would not see me for another 10 days. Went to Saxon clinic for thread removal, but I need a mini lift to fix problems. I do want a mini lift but not in a position to do this at the moment (time off new job, justification of more spend and nerves).
The original clinic are not interested in talking, however they will be forced to talk - legally and through face to face protest! I shall be going into the clinic today to force them to speak with me. My face is still sore - even with the majority of threads removed, maybe nerve trauma and the granulomas.
So glad you managed to get recompense - although no money helps you deal with confidence and self esteem during the recovery from such an experience! I am very pragmatic but like you, want others using these clinics to be aware that threads are not a good solution!
Thank you xx
Thank you dr1805 - yes I totally agree and now planning for that exactly - mini lift. I look forward to the spring when this will be done!

Thank you x
The thing is we are all being sold this as a wonder treatment by false advertising promising great results that will replace filler and last a year/2 years , how is it that's okay?
I agree I had it done in April and it cost me 1000.00 total waste of money, in fact I look worse now than before, I just wanted a slight lift to jowls and now they look worse. I'm sorry for anyone who has had this experience it's not worth it.
Totally agree , it's shocking how it can be claimed the results will last year's then as soon as the swelling goes down its all back to where you were and in some cases the situation is worse!
I had PDO Beauty thread lift, a combination of threads plain on the cheek area and barbed along the jawl line to pull up the jowls, which lasted until the swelling had gone in about a week!! This treatment needs to be banned, it actually has had an adverse effect on my face, made me look older and sad looking, my friends were very upset I looked like I'd lost a lot of money, and I really had!!
I paid £1800 in Milton Keynes in May 2015 and have had to revert back to fillers , so angry at being promised it would stop the need for fillers which break down very quickly when I have them for some reason.
Pdo thread lifts do not work.
I have had the same experience in MK, I fact had them removed. Where did you have treatment?
hi where did you have ur treatment done? it’s sad to hear...
