Avoid at All Costs
I really hope that anyone considering Sculptra reads reviews first. My experience has been a nightmare to say the least. I went into a clinic which has incredible ratings, before and after photos and everything seemed squeaky clean. I had gone in after I'd lost a substantial amount of weight and had quite a bit of hollowing in my cheeks and asked for advice on what to do.
I was given 3 options: Fillers, threadlift or Sculptra.
I had made it clear that I didn't want fillers, I was adamant that I didn't want fillers. Sculptra was sold to me as a collagen stimulator and all the benefits seemed to be amazing. Hardly any of the severe side effects or risks were made clear to me. I was told that I "might" develop some lumps that will resolve themselves with time.
I was given the after care information the 5x5x5 rule. The doctor was quite rough I felt and since then on the left side of my cheek I have felt tightness which comes and goes to which I returned and he said it would "clear up" and that no nerve damage was present etc. It has been 3 months with somewhat slight improvement.
I now live in absolute fear of developing these granulomas under my skin and have been diagnosed with depression. Every pimple I get I am convinced it's a granuloma and just cry. I find that I am working myself up into a complete state just living in fear of what this is going to do to me, potentially years down the track.
Please, please be careful with what you put into your body and what you do to your skin. I beg you.
