It Ruined my Face

It Ruined my Face

I’m 1 year out from the disaster of a lifetime-
Sculptra that was given under the guise of a “natural” filler that only lasts “12 months.”
No mention of being irreversible, no mention of side effects. I had gotten regular filler from the provider before and thought this was the same. Everything was fine until a few weeks after the treatment when I started seeing negative changes to my face. 6 months in was the worst, I was so huge.
My face shape has changed, the left side was overfilled and has nodules as well as constant soreness.
I miss my old beautiful self.

Everyone has different answers about when this will go away.

Please look into other things, diet, exercise, hydration, gua sha, dry brushing, face yoga, etc.

Once you do this there is no going back.

Facial changes aren’t due to weight gain, my hair style has changed and I took a piercing out, but that’s it

You’re still beautiful! ❤️ Sculptra will wear off someday. It’s supposed to last 24 months. I was considering it but now I’m scared. You still look beautiful though and your original face will return. Hang in there!

Did you do anything to help?

Thank you for all the kind replies. Galderma, the manufacturer of Sculptra, just announced that they made 2.448 billion dollars in the first half of 2025.
Meanwhile so many are left marred by their callous disregard for long term outcomes and complications in real people.
I’ll be praying for all of you. We are worth so much more than your appearance, and in a world that tells us otherwise so often, please remember the world isn’t correct. Your heart matters, your voice matters, you matter. Please don’t give up.

I was diagnosed with Hashimotos so this might explain the huge inflammatory response- the problem is that autoimmune conditions are on the rise, especially in women. Even if you don’t have one when you get sculptra, it might just be the foreign body that acts as the last straw to break the camels (your immune system) back.

I can completely understand how this is distressing for you, but I just wanted to take a moment to tell you that I honestly had a very hard time determining which photos were before and which were after. We're all so much more critical of ourselves than anyone else is. Being completely honest, you were beautiful before and you're just as beautiful now!! (btw - I have hashimoto's and that's the reason I have declined this every time my doctor suggests it). Whatever's happening isn't visible though. I hope that the pain subsides for you soon!!
