I was not given informed consent and was advised that this product boosts your own collagen. I was told it was safe and the body would re-absorb it in two years. This product is not safe and I have been permanently disfigured by it. So have many others. PLEASE don't use this product. It is not safe and will cause granulomas. It's just a question of when and how badly you will be injured by it. Studies show serious complication rates as high as 40%. I had severe allergic reaction, an infection, and immediate papules and granulomas that have scarred my face all over. I had perfect skin until Sculptra. Now I have a pizza face full of pussy lumps.

I’m so sorry you are going through this. Has your face blown up in volume too? How many vials did you have? Try to stay strong, although I know it’s hard.

sculptra is FANTASTIC some people dont do their homework and do the massaging on a regular basis iv only had one treatment so far a month ago and am due my second vial in 2 days it is working very quickly for me and after only one month and 20 massages a day im now looking at a face i havent seen since my forties im 59

:) :) :) had my second last friday and on top of the high concentrate vitamin c and the marine hydrogenated collagen caps i look amazing so far and it will only get better as the weeks go on

Sculptra is a terrible product. I massaged for 15 minutes 7 times a day for 4 weeks. Read the posts and see the pictures. Read the medical studies. The complication rate is extremely high, the product migrates and it can disfigure as well as cause systemic disease. They do not tell you that before they inject it.

Fyi, massaging protocol is just a theory, no proof it actually has any effect. People get lumps wether they massage or not.

A bit of an insensitive reply considering someone is having a traumatic experience. I too had an awful experience. Overly inflamed, continuous growth that totally overwhelmed my features. I looked 20 years older especially in pictures with ballooned out cheeks. I only used one vial my body just had a very strong reaction to it. I did go back to my injector years later because I couldnt stand it and she was able to inject something that helped. I remember the horror of feeling like it would never go away. I hope you’ve gotten some relief.

I developed several granulomas, too.....after my second set of injections. And I DID do my homework on my doctor and massaged just like I was told!! It is a known side effect. Sorry you are experiencing this. I have met a couple plastic surgery doctors/nurse injectors that won’t even consider injecting it at all. Too unpredictable and not reversible like the HA based fillers.

i didnt mean homework on the doctor i meant massaging a lot drinking water vitamin c eating very healthily you also need to make sure yopur estrogen levels arnt too low all that sculptra does is encourage your own collagen to grow there are no chemicals

I am very sorry to hear this, I know that results vary from patient to patient, and I also believe that every procedure no matter how small has its risks, which is why I think it is so important to do your research, especially on the humans that are licensed to do these.
