Sculptra nightmare - the bottom of my face is huge and puffy

Please help. Sculptra inflammation and growing out of control. I don’t know what to do. I look like I’ve stuffed my cheeks with acorns and it won’t stop. It’s blown out of control and changes everyday. Please someone help.

I am so sorry you are dealing with this. Have you posted a question outside of the review on real self? I find that if you ask the question that way, plastic surgeons are really good at answering. I hope you find some answers.

I’m already on an entirely anti inflammatory diet and every anti inflammatory supplement and have a doctor who specializes in gut and immunity. Nothing I do makes any difference whatsoever
Diet won’t fix. You need oral prednisolone and kenacort injections.
How are you now ? My face gets inflamed and my under eyes look horrible . I don’t know anyone who can help me

Same my under eyes are swollen and blue tinted I have pain in the side of my face by my ear four months after sculpture. I look terrible throughout the day my skin looks pale and white. My under eyes look whitish yellow . Dr says leave it alone .

I find this true but I am two years in. Did you doc mean soon after you had or injected or years later?i kept massaging vigorously because I read that massage could help speed up the scar tissue break down. I left it alone for two years with minimal change

You need massage it more: 5 time a day, 5 min for 5-6day in raw
Even at month 4?
The massaging won’t help unfortunately. It’s just a terrible product and once you’ve reacted badly it doesn’t stop
I got it done 6 weeks ago and I’m so worried. I thought if you did the massages you would be good.
I’m at 1.5 years and it hasn’t gotten better . Sometimes my face look grey . My upper lip is folding toward the inside of my mouth on one side so now my lips are crooked and I look like I’ve had a stroke . There’s grayish fluid that shows up under my eyes sometimes . Whole face is numb I have tried to be patient but after 1.5 years I feel like it’s never going to get better . It’s like he put it very shallow into my face . I can see the outline of product . My under eyes sometimes look very thick and yellow . The Dr who did this says he will not see me anymore and I’m sure that’s because I’ve thrown a fit and told him to stop gaslighting me . I’m so upset ! This stuff is the absolute worst !
I am slightly sensitive to Sculptra as well, if a ball comes up and I massage it it becomes more inflamed then if I had just left it alone. Once I stop touching it it will go away after a few weeks. My derm who does them told me massaging the Sculptra will make it grow more so maybe stop touching it? Good luck.
Did leaving it alone help ? How are you now ?
When you had it done, did the doctor massage all the areas of injection and did they recommend to massage those areas for five days after the procedure?
Yes that’s not even close to the issue

Sculptra overfill & inflammation - please, please help??

I’m in week 17 since my second and last sculptra injection. It’s so bad. I’ve been injected all in one place in the pockets around the mouth, huge inflamed balls have formed there. I can roll my fingers over these quarter sized ropey balls deep in my skin, global inflammation, redness, and aching. It’s awful. Please tell me someone has experienced this and gotten better before the 5 years quotes. I’m devastated. Below I’ve posted before and after taking a steroid to bring it down. It’s really awful

keep massaging your face at least 5 times a day for a couple of weeks.....sculptra needs to stand for at least 4 to five days before injection....i leave mine for 8 days before injection so it dissolves properly and no needle clogging.....it sounds like your provider didnt let the sculptra stand for long enough before injection.....i know they say no more than 72 hours to stand but NO in europe we leave for around a week and it gives a better result....keep massaging
also the sculptra should not be placed only in the chin it has to go in temples....cheeks....jaw to give a balanced look
It’s been 4 months. I’ve been massaging. This is an allergic reaction or overfill of some kind. I don’t have any in the chin only in the cheeks
ah then i have the answere....the person who injecxted you did not do it properly....u actually need more sculptra, yes u heard right.....u cant just inject the cheeks alone or any other part of the face alone ....the face has to be balanced......the temples need to have sculptra and also the jaw otherwise you will have a plump young cheeks but an older looking temple hollow (peanut head) and a slack older looking jaw.....go to a professioNAL AND SHOW THEM this WHAT I HAVE WRITTEN HERE AND THEY WILL CORRECT THE JOB.....YOU WILL BE LOOKING YOUNGER AND FANTASTIC IN NO TIME WITH A PROPERLY BALANCED FACE

I’ve had it twice 7 months into my fill I have hollow spots on the left side of my face. Went to my dermatologist and she said it’s because I’ve lost weight I don’t believe it. I got anot kind of filler and it looks like it all went underneath my eyes it looks so bad and one side has like tread marks. I’m hoping this will resolve idk. My dr is no help. Now the want to draw blood and place it under my eyes. I don’t know what to do or think.
Massaging won’t work. As it’s biofilm. From my experience that had worked and seen massive results. You need 50mg prednisone daily for atleast 3 months. Wean off slowly. That also with kenalog 10 injections every 4-6 weeks. Do those first. If you notice atrophy stop for 6 weeks. Then do a mix of 5/fu & kenalog.
Also DO NOT GET ANY MORE SCULPTRA. YOU have nodules obviously like what I had. I am going to post a before and after photo now after 7 months of treatment.

I’m currently on 20mg prednisone and 100mg doxycycline x2 a day. I will be trying my first kenalog injections this weekend and hopefully it will work. I really appreciate you sharing your experience and hope this works for me too!

sorry it didnt work for you iv had temples cheeks jaw and although im 55 i look 35.....this is the reason i love sculptra so much its a gamechanger if done right

Just adding a photo for reference of how bad it is. I’m only 16 weeks from injections and I’m so much pain both physically and emotionally. Please tell me there is a way to correct this or a light at the end of the tunnel. I’m in hell

It’s only gotten worse and worse and worse. Over a year and I’ve done everything known to man, spent thousands of dollars and can’t fix it or stop it
