Positive Review of Sculptra

I really feel that I should reassure anyone who is considering having Sculptra, to go ahead with it. I have had issues in the past, with various hyaluronic acid fillers. I have a small face and I just didn't like the puffiness I always had with them. I wanted something more natural and not augmented.
I found the most wonderful nurse prescriber/practitioner based in Cheltenham. I have been going to her now for around 2 years, for various treatments. During that time, she has got to know my face and how it responds to products.... we are all very different. Because of the investment of time in our relationship, she recommended Sculptra for a more global treatment. I had a facelift just over three years ago and I am 59. I have always been slim and the downside of that, is that the face can look gaunt. A facelift won't treat that, but that makes sense. You can lift and trim, but in mature women who are slim, you will need to add either fat or increase collagen, to get that fresh, healthy glow back.
Of course I was concerned about lumps, as Sculptra did have a reputation for lumps appearing. The last thing anyone needs is to be concerned about this. Yuliya is such a thorough and knowledgable woman and before I had even enquired about the possible pitfalls, she raised it with me. She then reassured me that most of the problems with lumps, were because practitioners were not preparing the product, enough days in advance. So the protocol is that is should be prepared 48 hours in advance of the treatment. She refers to this as the 'cooking time'.
In addition to having the product prepared properly, it is vital that you adhere to the post treatment protocol of massage. It used to be 5x5x5 (five minutes, five times per day for five days). The new post treatment protocol is to massage for five minutes, twice a day, for one month.
I do my massage as soon as I wake up in the morning, and then after removing my make up at night. I set my phone timer and alarm to I don't forget. I'm very strict about this, because I think it's so important to do your bit too, for post care.
My first treatment was around 8 weeks ago and I started to notice a nice subtle change at around 4 weeks. I was aware that this is a Process and not a one off treatment where you see immediate results. I prefer the subtle slow change, personally.
After my second treatment, I had no superficial swelling (I had quite a bit of water swelling after the first treatment, but that goes in a day or so), no bruising, no redness. I can't say it was pain free, but then I believe in being honest about my personal experience, and everyone has a different pain threshold. To be honest though, the pain was the stinging from the lidocaine. Once that kicks in, there is no pain whatsoever.
My temples have really improved. I was becoming self conscious of hollowing in my temples.
Very importantly, this product is not for under the eyes, or lips. I read horror stories of people who have been treated, by doctors, in these areas and it's most definitely a 'no, no'.
The cost with Yuliya is £305 per vial. As I have a small face and it wasn't terribly deflated, she has advised on 3 vials to be spaced out every six weeks. So for me, under £1k is very affordable. And after that, a top up of once every 2 years of 1 vial, is all that is required.
All in all, this treatment suits my needs, and fits my budget, without having to go to someone who wasn't an excellent medically trained practitioner.
I have no photographs as yet, but Yuliya always takes photos and so when I have had all three treatments I will ask her for them so I can post them.
I asked her permission before sharing her information on here. I love this woman. You would not be disappointed.
