66 year old female with loosening skin and jowls forming but still an attractive face. NP in high profile plastic surgeon/med spa office recommended sculptra injections to smooth area. Results: lower face heaviness, jowls same (maybe worse), and more pronounced marionette lines that I never noticed before. No one I know wants deeper marionette lines. Extremely aging. After looking at before and after photos with me, the NP recommended a face lift. My thoughts: There are many face shapes. A thoughtful injector can predict how a procedure will affect other areas and identify the strength and weakness in different planes of the face and educate the consumer. Risks of this sculptra treatment were not explained other than to masssage area for five days. It is not disolvable like other fillers. Her reaction to my questions was as ugly as my pronounced marionette lines. Maybe this is another way to get referrals for the plastic surgeon?

Im sorry this happened to you. Sculptra is a dangerous product in the wrong hands - and possibly just dangerous period, after my research. There's not a lot you can do about it Im sorry to say I am 18 months out I see no sign of the collagen built going down. Wishing you all the best.

The m lines are still there. Did you have it injected in your cheek plane?
Yes, I did. She injected one full vial, two separate times. I never had a heavy looking face before, and it is now. It took away my high cheek bone structure. I hate it. Curious if it will ever go away.
When did you notice these results? I'm 2 weeks into my second treatment and getting concerned...
Immediately after as I asked to see the before photo.
The injector’s response to my concern was “you I need a face lift.” Oh okay. Here’s your money for the sculptra and let me get your office more money for the face lift.
Anyway, maybe your injector is more experienced and it will enhance your facial shape. The issue is
Sculptra cannot be dissolved.
That’s the risk that I was not informed of.
