Disfigured by Sculptra

$1,200
Sculptra is a dangerous and defective product. Studies by the manufacturer and independent researches demonstrate an unacceptably high complication rate. These complications are severe and disfiguring and include permanent immune system damage that can cause incurable Granulomatous diseases. Please use some other filler and avoid this product.

not true sculptra us a natural substance made from sugar cane all it does is promote your own natural collagen to return sculptra needs to be mixed 4 or for 5 days prior to injection it hasa to stand for this amount of time to blend together properly otherwise lumps and bumps can occur massage every day lots of times for a month after injection
Sculptra is a bioplastic. While it contains corn sugar it also contains a lot of other harmful ingredients. I is plastic.
then give us the LIST of HARMFUL ingredients
t's classified as a collagen stimulator that provides long-lasting, natural-looking results that can last up to two years. Sculptra is safe and effective but isn't recommended for people with allergies to any of its ingredients or for those with medical conditions that cause irregular scarring.26 Jun 2018
It’s plastic going into your face yes plastic !
Very true. I was a sculptra fan for 8 years. Never had a problem until my last injections. I had a wonderful doctor. Three years later I’m still having problems and have suffered scarring and tissue loss. One side of my face is larger than the other. Not everyone will have the same unlucky reaction but there really are no long time studies. It is a dangerous substance. That’s why many doctors don’t use it as there is no way to reverse the damage.
Hi! I’m very concerned after reading your comments. Is it true about all scholars injections on face only? I’m planning doing my butt
I haven’t don’t much research about sculptra in other areas of the body. Just be aware that it can cause serious problems. I would also assume you would use a lot more product in your butt. If you have any sort of auto immune concerns, I would use something else.
I've been doing sculptra for 10 years on my face only and have never experienced any issues, lumps, ganulomas or auto-immune diseases. I ONLY have been injected by highly skilled and experienced board-certified dermatologists. The one I have seen for the past four years is actually a scultra instructor for other physicians. WHO you are going to is 90%, 10% is what is that experienced physician chooses as the best product to use with you--WHO is more important than WHAT. Research the experience, knowledge and training of who you select to help you.
I did impecable research. My doctor was and is wonderful. Highly skilled board certified and a sculptra trainer. I had beautiful results until three years ago when I had my last injections. AND I was just doing a yearly maintenance so I was not getting a lot. Please don’t assume that people who are having difficulty went to an inexperienced person. It also shouldn’t be implied that a person experiencing problems has body dysmorphia. Sculptra is SERIOUS business. I am willing to answer any questions that people may have. I spent lots of time researching the product and the potential long term serious problems it can cause.
I respect your research. I am truly sorry for any issues you or any other person has had with sculptra and I wish you all the best. I apologize for any interpreted disrespect and lack of caring and understanding on my part. God Bless.
Hi Linda, I’m sorry to read what you’ve been going through. I had Sculptra in 2015 and am still suffering. One side of my face is much bigger than the other too. Would you like to talk? Thanks.
Linda, thank you for your response. I live in Florida. How do you start the process of determining which professionals are highly skilled in injecting this product. I am concerned that many doctors misrepresent their true
skills. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
I went to a board certified dermatologist who was recommended to me by another derm. My doctor was fabulous. She is a sculptra trainer. Unfortunately, my body reacted negatively after my last procedure. Up until then I couldn’t have been happier with my results. I’m also disappointed I can no longer use Sculptra. But. It’s not worth the risk. I’ve been suffering with side affects for years. It’s a decision each person needs to make . I’m just sharing my story to make people aware that even after many years of beautiful results, things can go awry with even the best of doctors.
Sure. I also have one side bigger than the other. That actually doesn’t bother me. It’s the scarring from the nodules that is so distressing.
No offense taking at all! We are all just sharing our experiences. And even though I had amazingly beautiful results for 8 years...... I still wouldn’t recommend Sculptra to anyone. I really wouldn’t. I have permanent and severe scarring and I am still dealing with minor side effects more than three and a half years after my last injection.
Rose,
Who is your injector? Where is he or she located?
I am in Sacramento area. Jaclyn Calkin is in Fair Oaks, CA. You can look up her reviews on Yelp and on Real Self. She is really excellent and I trust her. She has years of experience with Sculptra and teaches others, but with every procedure, there are risks and I am not denying that some of the women commenting on this post have had unfortunate results. It just hasn't happened to me yet in 10 years of using this product.
Is it still growing I’m so sick of this , it’s been a year for me . You can actually see where the sculptra is . It went u see my eyes and look swollen and this off yellow color . Hate this stuff
I have been a Sculptra provider for over 10 yeas and I perform over 1500 Sculptra procedures a year (and the same or more number of filler procedures).
I have never seen any of these outcomes in my patients.
Sculptra is by far my favorite treatment. The results are much more natural and longer lasting than fillers. In the hands of the right injector, it has many more uses than fillers. You can add volume where needed, you can improve skin turgor, you can resurface and smooth, you can lift and tighten, etc. and this is true for the whole body, not only the face.
There are 3 main factors that are important when it comes to preventing complications with Sculptra:
A physician who has many years of experience with Sculptra. There are established physicians who are experienced injectors but don’t do many Sculptra procedures.
Technique is very important. I have seen physicians who inject Sculptra with the same techniques as they would injecting dermal fillers. Sculptra must be injected differently than dermal fillers.
Reconstitution (mixing the Sculptra with Bacterioststic Water). Sculptra was originally FDA approved for HIV lipoatrophy patients. For the past several years as the treatment has gained popularity for a wider spectrum of cosmetic procedure we have updated the reconstitution guidelines. Although many physicians have embraced the new guidelines, some are still using the old ones. And a lot of the negative effects of Sculptra, such as lumps or bumps are due to archaic guidelines that we now know do it work. In short the product has to be mixed with the right amount of Bacreiostic Water and left to dilute for the right about of days.
Do you know anyone in Florida with the above experience. From reading your post, experience and skill are very important. I am concerned that make the right choice. Thanks in advance.
I had the BEST doctor and I certainly do not blame my doctor for the side effects I’ve suffered with for years. Granulomas do happen and many form years after your injections. Mine did. My doctor mixed sculptra correctly. Her technique is amazing. I massaged perfectly. I just want people to be aware of the damage that can be done. If it happened to me it can happen to anyone.
Thank you for this comment Dr. Vafa. The autoimmune comments are terrifying to read and I’m now reconsidering having sculptors done since I have Crohn’s. I did sculptra twice before in my face with no issues or at least none known to me. I whet into a flare in August and was diagnosed with crohn’s (previously UC). Dealing with it still. I’m on humira and was on prednisone prior to this. Do you have any experience with sculptra for people with Crohn’s or ulcerative colitis or humira? Any advice on the matter? Thank you!
The biggest factor for sculptra outcomes is the immune system of the patient. This is why some people have no bad outcomes and others develop severe autoimmune disease. Unfortunately you don’t always know upfront if you will be the victims.
i agree sculptra is fantastic
