Day 12 after Sculptra in lower cheeks & still swollen - anyone had similar?

Day 25

$800
Still puffy and swollen. I am hoping that this will go down. I had Scultpra injected in periaucular areas for a lifting effect and thus far the opposite has occurred. I just wish practitioners were more honest about possible side effects, etc., as I have been hiding and depressed for the past 3.5 weeks.

Hey. I'm about the same timeline out from you. I was told you need to get on steriods to stop the inflammation

Still Some Swelling After 2 Weeks

After 4 days, bruise appeared. After 2 weeks exactly, bruise is gone, but still some swelling. I contacted provider and they said to give it a few more weeks. I just wish that I had been told to expect the possibility of a month of swelling. Some users have told me that the new guidelines for injecting Sculptra result in more swelling/trauma.

Day 12- Still Swollen

I had one vial of Scultpra split between lower cheeks (laterally to provide a lower cheek lift). I am on day 12 post-procedure and still swollen. As of now, I would be thrilled to just get my normal face back, as I have slight jowling. Swelling and soreness began immediately after the injections, and bruising appeared 5 days later. Has anyone had a similar experience. When will I return to baseline? Thank you!

I have had Sculptra before in the temples with no issues.

Thanks for you review, I hope you get some helpful responses from the community! Please update on your healing anytime.

In the pre auricular area the Sculptra must be injected superficially to avoid trauma to the parotid gland. The Sculptra injection only consists on tiny poly-l-lactic particles and bacteriostatic water and lidocaine. The fluid is excreted by the body within 5-7 days, most commonly 3-5. The poly-l-lactic particles are gone within two weeks. Bruising is a potential side effect of any injections. From personal experience, 23 years injecting, Sculptra has the least incidence of bruising. If there was a deep bruise and pooling of blood- a hematoma, that good be the cause of your prolonged swelling and discoloration. The tendency to bruise and the recovery process is very individualized based on many factor's involving health, nutrition, medications, age, etc. My patients are always advised how to minimize bruising and how to most quickly heal bruising. There are several devices that help speed the healing process of the bruise as well. When my patients bruise, they know what supplements, topicals and treatments are available to speed that recovery process. The problem is not with the product, but perhaps in your injector educating and informing you pre-treatment.
Thank you. I am 5 1/2 weeks out- better, but still a bit puffy.
a few typos, sorry,
@ 12 weeks you should take some after photos because you will begin to see the positive effects of the Sculptra that are gradually becoming evident
