WORTH IT
I wanted something to help me with my persistent lower belly fat. I’ve had a poochy stomach since I was 13 and four pregnancies sure didn’t help it. Years of exercise and healthy eating did nothing to diminish its sticky-outy appearance and I was deeply self conscious about it.
I researched lipo, but the expense, the need for anesthesia, and the aftermath of Tara Reid’s procedure (remember that?) back in the day left me deciding against it.
I looked into Cool Sculpting, too, but the possibility of having a leftover “shelf” of fat was a turn off.
Finally, I came upon Sculpsure. Reading the reviews here on RealSelf helped me feel comfortable with the procedure, so I decided to move forward.
While I was at my dermatologist, I asked about the pricing for this procedure. They told me they only wanted to “treat to complete”, so I’d need two treatments. Oh, and by the way, my upper abdomen looked flabby, too, so they’d recommend doing that as well. Ouch. They were having a special so the whole thing would be around $3500.
That was more than I’d hoped to spend, so I said no thanks.
Because I’d researched the procedure, I kept getting Facebook ads for different providers in my area. When I saw the ninth or tenth ad for Sculpt Away, I decided to give them a call.
They invited me in for a consultation, and upon learning the details, I decided to have the treatment the next day.
I got four laser-emitting things (I don’t remember what they’re called) on my lower abdomen. It was on the highest setting possible and I never found it unbearable or even truly painful - just irritating after a while.
They sent me home with instructions and recommendations and told me to come back in 12 weeks to see final results.
I was super happy with my results well before that. The after photo here is from about the six week mark. I maintained my normal diet and exercise, so this change was all Sculpsure. You can see that the sticky-outy area doesn’t stick out nearly as much!
I would 100% do this again (I might do the flanks, too) and would recommend this procedure to anyone in a similar situation.

What’s the “leftover “shelf”” you are referring to for cool sculpting? I ask because I had cool sculpting over a month ago and I maybe seeing a “shelf”. I’m freaking out. Will it go away??

The representative at the med spa told me it was undissolved fat where it had been "pinched" between two treatment paddles.
I'm not sure if it goes away - it's worth a call to your provider!

@d2264 you still have that "shelf" after 3 years? I saw you asked that question on the Q&A forum in 2016. I'm guessing the massage never helped it go away? What did your provider tell you it was? The nice thing about SculpSure the paddles kill the fat not just under the paddles but around them. If you look at my review, you can see how I saw results in my flank area (back) and no paddles were used there. Read my review, it's pretty thorough. If your in the southern MD area I highly recommend the place I went as I had bangin' results! Pictures speak for themselves. I'm on there website too with my b&a. If I can help answer any questions, please let me know. You can see mh's results are beautiful too. It's amazing what SculpSure has done for our waistlines! Thanks for stopping by!
Your results are fabulous! A huge difference. Thank you for sharing this.
