Dr. Kolstad is the MAN! - La Jolla, CA

Ok ladies, when I tell you I'm the pickiest, most meticulous person on the planet when it comes to my skin and face, it's not an understatement! With extensive research and consults I decided to go with Dr. Kolstad for my facial fat transfer procedure. I informed him that I struggle with melasma and he was hesitant in taking me on as a patient because he wanted to do some research, if there were any adverse side effects with the two combined. That right there showed me he wasn't interested making a quick buck. So he found that there would be no complications and we went ahead with the procedure. Procedure was pretty simple, had half a Valium before we started and the other half towards the end. He gave me topical lidocaine on my outer thigh to numb me first. Then the numbing injections. EASY! He took his time, no rushing. Talked me through the whole procedure. His assistant, Jaina was there too. She was great as well,very sweet and positive. So with my thigh all number up he started the lipo, barely felt anything. If I felt anything that hurt he'd stop and move to another position. Then they spun my fat down in a little centrifuge. Placed my fat into separate syringes (18gauge) about 10cc total for my cheeks. I forgot to include he injected numbing solution into my face as well. He would periodically stop and show what he was doing to my face to make sure I was ok with what I saw. Then he stitched my leg up and that was it! I was awake the entire time and I'm telling you when it was over, I was like that's it? Best procedure ever!
