I am a 36 year old male who very recently under...
I am a 36 year old male who very recently under went a 6-hour Vaser Hi Def liposculpting surgery of my chest, abs, flanks and entire back plus my own fat transfered to augment upper buttocks and chest under general anesthesia (out-of-state patient). At time of surgery, I was 180 lbs with palpable chest and abdomen muscle tone but with your traditional "flat tire" look around my waist when the shirt was off. Under dress clothes, you can't tell that I had a belly, but it was obviously apparent when I had any body forming shirts on. Time that had allowed me to work out was limited due to the amount of time I need to put into my career (I'm also a Healthcare Professional) and spend quality time with my new son.
My goal for my surgery investment was always straight forward; I wanted to get a leaner waist line by getting rid of my "flat tire" that I had all my life! As matter of fact, I had wanted to get liposuction of my abs and flanks dated back in 2002 when I was in my 20s in grad school, but wasn't able to commit due to lack of financial means.
Now that I am able to afford it, I decided that I going to go through with it. I was first introduced to Vaser Hi Def liposculpting by an Dr. 90210 episode that featured Dr. Matlock. I was thrilled to witness what he could provided to his male patients but never gave a second thought! To me, at that time, was that type of results were "Hollywood" stuff and costs that I can never afford, but I never had forgotten about it! I consulted with multiple Plastic Surgeons within the city where I reside, average cost was around $8,000 for Lipo of abs and flanks, but more importantly, none of them, gave me that sense of that they can achieve the result that I had envisioned.
One surgeon mentioned "oh I can etch your abs" and that reignited the Vaser Hi Def idea. I then went on Google where it listed all the surgeons that was trained to perform Vaser Hi Def Lipo. Since the state of Pennsylvania does not have a Vaser Hi Def trained surgeon, I knew I had to be a traveling patient.
Out of that list of 12-13 Vaser Hi Def trained surgeons, I want a surgeon that was a also member of ASAPS and that further reduced my choices and brought me to Dr. S in Scottsdale, AZ.
Consultation was complementary, office was upscaled, attractive staff were all friendly, and I felt so comfortable with Dr. S immediately that I scheduled my surgery that same day!
Two weeks later, I flew back to AZ for my surgery, I'm glad that EVERYTHING went well and as planned. Never been under general anesthesia so I was curious, but the entire surgery team was great. I haven't received a copy of my operative report yet, but Doc told me he removed approximately 5-6000 cc in volume!
For those of us from out of town, no worries, Dr. S has his own 24/7 Post-Op Recovery Center staffed to take care his surgery patients. This place was amazing, I elected to stay for one night and I had two 12-hour shift RN teams (4 people total) that took care of me (food, dressing changes, vitals, meds, etc).
Now 6 days post-op, healing is going well. Your usuall stuff, ecchymosis, paresthesia, edema, draining plenty (still serosanguineous), and I can see the outline of my rectus abdominus for the first time!
Last, I just want to mention real quick that Dr. S managed DVT/PE prophalytics phenomenally, pre-op, intraoperatively, and post-op. This is very important, make sure you all ask your surgeons what their regime is. I loved my SCDs!
In closing, I recommend Dr. S any day, any where! Vaser Hi Def Liposculpting, absolutely worth every penny, ALL 960,000 of mine!

See above. Not all surgeons are the same! Just because they're Plastic Surgeons, that doesn't mean that they all can acheive the same results. To acheive great plastic surgery results will require plastic surgeon's innate ability to see beauty. Some are artisits and some are mechanics, if you want an artist that is also very well trained, then Dr. S is your man!
