I am 29 years old, and at the time I decided to do this procedure I was about to get married. After working out and eating healthy for a long period of time, there were still stubborn areas that I wanted to fix before my wedding. I have been a patient of Dr. Spies several times before, so there was no question that he would be the only one I trusted to perform Vaser Lipo for me.

My entire experience was amazing, from consultation to surgery, to my post-op appointments, Dr. Spies and his staff are exceptional. For the procedure, I decided to do a lot of areas at once (which originally I was nervous about), but my results are incredible, and I wouldn’t change my decision for anything. Dr. Spies reassured me that it would be no problem, and it wasn’t! If you are thinking about doing multiple areas - get them all done at once!!! So worth it!

Procedure: The areas I did were underneath my chin, my arms, my back, and my stomach, and love-handles. The incisions are extremely small, and only need a couple tiny stitches (if that) to heal (they are also put under the skin to dissolve, so no scarring from the stitches). My scars have completely have disappeared, and Dr. Spies creates the incisions in areas where they are unnoticeable anyway. For example, for the stomach area, the incision is so low and placed in a crease below the panty line. For the arms, it is in the lines of your under-arm area. From all the areas I did, you cannot notice one scar. I believe my surgery was a few hours, and with small or less areas, I think it’s a pretty quick and easy procedure. After I woke up from anesthesia, the areas were wrapped tightly in a bandage. I was instructed to keep the areas wrapped for a week at least; I kept mine on longer because it felt better having them on a majority of the time during recovery. The bandages help shrink your skin up after the surgery, and I noticed it help keep everything firm and tight.

Recovery: I went in for surgery in the morning, and went home that same day. I pretty much slept from then until the next morning after the anesthesia wore off. I woke up sore the 2nd day, but it wasn’t horrible, and each day got easier after that. The recovery honestly isn’t that bad, but definitely plan on a week or so of laying around and resting. I used frozen peas and ice a lot during the first week. The pain medication definitely helps, but it’s not so much pain as it is soreness and skin sensitivity. I stopped taking the pain medication about 4 days in and I was fine. It was definitely bearable. I bruised a little, but not as much as I thought I would, and I was pretty swollen at first which is normal. After the first week, it goes down, and each week gets better and better. I had a trip planned 3 weeks after my surgery, and I was able to go no problem and I was feeling really good by then.

Results: I absolutely love my results. My stomach and back are completely flat and firm, my arms are so much smaller, and the area underneath my chin looks awesome! I really feel like a whole new person. I felt amazing at my wedding, and thankfully I will have these incredible results for a long time! I couldn’t happier that I chose to do this procedure.

Thank you so much for sharing. I'm thinking of going to Dr. Spies as well. How was drainage the first few days? I'll be alone so I'm a little afraid of how I'll be the first few days after. And if it's not TMI, when were you able to be intimate again?
