I am 35 year old male lost significant amount of weight around 8-9 years back maintaining a generally stable weight since then. I received Abdominoplasty and Gynocomastia surgery from Dr. Remus Repta. I have to start by saying the Dr. Repta is not just the best plastic surgeon in the Phoenix valley/Scottsdale area, he is a “dream-fulfiller” ! He has helped me fulfill a dream of a lifetime! (I am sure to many people getting plastic surgery done is really a fulfillment of a goal very personal to them). I had an excellent experience with Dr. Repta's office right from calling in the first time through surgery and through to all the post surgery visits. Choosing to undertake plastic surgery is not an easy decision and it was not for me. I had one clear goal when I started my search for the right surgeon –Never mind the money, the surgeon who does it has to be the “best of the best” – no less! I started with a high level list formulated from taking their names from US News Doc reviews/Internet plastic surgeon listing/The board of plastic surgeon etc. I researched them all through a combination of reviewing their websites (focusing on before/after results for guys and general experience and background of the doctors). I also looked up the ratings/reviews of the doctors on website that linked and provided Doc reviews such as realself.com. I narrowed down my list to 7 surgeons who were the best of the best. These were the ones I setup appointments with to meet up personally with. I had some questions which I prepared beforehand but primarily I wanted to understand in good detail the approach the doc would take with my specific surgery (Tummy Tuck and Gynocomastia) and how confident he/she felt about what kinda of results I could reasonably expect. Of the seven surgeons I met, making the final decision was the tough part hard. All of them were double board certified, professors/academicians who had not only excellent experience doing surgery but publishing in the medical field, several of them fellows to several prestigious schools and associations – basically all excellent surgeons dedicated to excellence in their profession. Dr. Repta clearly stood out as the best among the best! He is the most pleasant and patient doc I have met. I did not receive any pressure from him or his office ever throughout the entire process. He answered all my questions with clarity and great confidence. I clearly got the “He’s been there Done that soooo many times” feeling from him and that made me in turn feel confident about his expertise at the surgery I needed – Abdominoplasty(Tummy Tuck) and Gynocomastia and I felt I was in good hands. Dr. Repta has been on TV and has invented new techniques in plastic surgery (back fat surgery for women being one of them). He has co-authored the Atlas of Abdominoloplasty a text book used at med school. What more could I ask for – when I met him Dr. Repta was instantly confident about my results and assured me of the same. My surgery was easily scheduled at date/time I asked for. There was a lot of flexibility available me to work with. My pre-op visit was informative and all my questions were answered. The wait times at the office each time (Have visited the office now ~ 6-7 times in all) are what have most surprised me – They are non-existent! I hardly ever have to wait at all to meet the doc. Results of my surgery have been just plain AMAZING !! Its been only a week so far but I could not believe myself and could not expect more!! I was not expecting any less than many others may given I had worked very hard at losing the weight and also at earning the money I was putting into the surgery - both! But glad to say my expectations have been exceeded! Recovery has been fast and pleasant. Whenever I needed Dr. Repta, he's been a phone call away. Even if it was after hours, I could leave a message with the answering service and he's been available to me right away. Absolutely wonderful for a doc his stature to be able to do that! I have to say from the management of the office to the doc’s flexibility and availability - Advanced Aesthetics Associates functions in a way can be only achieved by very committed individuals who work there. Special thanks to my nurse Amanda who so thoughtfully spent time and effort with me talking to me about things to distract my mind so I may not be nervous about the surgery – Little things matter a lot for a decision as big as this.
