2 years post-op

One year post-op I began to notice that the areas that did not receive Liposuction on my lower half, namely my buttocks and very front of my thighs were beginning to show it! The skin where liposuction did take place has become lax and few fibrous lumps have appeared. All this leads me to believe a second Liposuction is needed, not to negate the first surgery but to address my healed body's final look. I know I am not the only one who has experienced this, so for those with Lipedema, be aware of this. My hope is that Dr. Repta will be willing to consult and undertake this.

12 months post-op

In my first few months post-op I really believed that result would be my final result, despite being advised a year out would better tell the true results of my surgery. In conclusion I feel about a 50% improvement overall, much of my lipedema is still present and it has been slightly depressing. Where my lip edema was not fully removed is now exaggerated (buttocks/thighs) and now that my skin has healed it sags where there is more skin than fat. If I had the funds, I feel a second surgery would be necessary to remove excess from my buttocks and thighs.

Day 52

Further post surgical weight loss (no complaints) which has now stopped. Varicose veins on left leg have become prominent and left ankle swelling is still challenging me. As my lymphedema is and will continue to be a continued battle it is no surprise to me that my legs are uncomfortable without compression. MLD started and back at the gym sparingly. Daily evening dry brushing and using scar therapy for marks from the beginnings of a pressure ulcer on lower right leg. Progressing nicely

Dr. Ramus has a quiet unassuming demeanor, reflective and stoic, he listened to me and with conservatively chosen words gave me a clear indication of what his plan would be for my surgery. Dr. Ramus has been courteous at each of our meetings and I feel distinctly that his expertise will be evidenced in my final photos to come.
