I have done 4 sessions of Fraxel Repair (non-ablative), 2 - 30% TCA peels (under eyes), 2 pro fractional Erbium YAG treatments a year apart (under eyes) and tried every topical thing on the market. Nothing has resolved the fine lines radiating out from the corners of my eyes. It's hard to say just yet as I am 5 days post Fractora but this is the first time I'm seeing improvement with the skin under my eyes! I'm hoping it's not residual swelling that is making the area so smooth. I don't think it is, I think it's the treatment.
The procedure wasn't unbearably painful but I wouldn't say it was comfortable either. The first 4 days my skin was red, mildly bruised, splotchy, and had abrasions everywhere. Scared me to death. I followed my after care instructions and by day 5, I started looking a lot better. The first 4 days, I just looked persistently awful. I wore makeup on day 5 at the end of the day and it was hard to tell there were still some rough spots. I looked normal.
At this point, I feel very positive. It's hard to be patient but I'm healing well and I think this is going to yield some phenomenal results. My practitioner is a very reputable doctor with a staff of experts so I do believe going to the right person with the right team and expertise makes a difference. It's not a time to look for bargains or someone who isn't experienced enough to get the settings exactly right to deliver a great result.
I see a lot of concerning reviews out here about Fractora. If I would have written my review 2 days earlier, I'd have been less positive. However, I think the best thing if you are considering it is to really know who is doing the procedure and ensure they know you and your body responds to treatments, pain, etc. Nothing ever comes without risk but all we can do is minimize it. The same way we put our seatbelt on everyday when we get behind the wheel of our car trusting thousands of people passing us on the road are following the rules, paying attention, and sober.

I need to post the second portion still.
Thank you so much for putting up a review on your experience with Fractora. Since I am trying to decide between Fractora and Fraxel to treat the lines under my eyes, and it looks like you had both treatments, I am wondering a couple of things. First, if you were happy with your ultimate results of Fractora? Also, which treatment would you start with Fractora or Fraxel, since you've had both (which do you think was most effective in getting rid of those pesky lines!?!). Mine would be Fraxel Repair, which is the aggressive one, but Dr. wouldn't go too deep. Which treatment was worse recovery wise (how long before you could cover w/makeup?), since you mentioned your strong reaction to Fractora. I have very sensitive skin, esp. under my eye (it reacts to lots of products!) and a bit of roseasea, and live in a very hot area. One reason I'm leaning toward Fractora is that I heard it has less risk of hypopigmentation, and sun sensitivity afterward. Sorry for so many questions! Thanks so much for any input you could give!
