I have been unhappy with my thin creepy skin under my eyes and hollow under eye tear troughs for about 4 years. I tried fillers, chemical peels, fractional laser, very expensive eye creams, even a home laser device to try to improve the appearance of my eyes. There was some slight improvement with the fillers but not enough for long enough that I was truly satisfied with the results. I bruise easily so the filler would leave me bruised for a week or so.

About a year ago I started thinking about a long term solution and thought I was probably faced with another upper and lower bleph, but had concerns about how that would fix the thin skin and the hollows.

I scheduled a consult with Dr. Shapiro, who I had used for a browlift and bleph several years ago (with great results). He suggested erbium laser for the eye lid and mid face with fat transfer for the under eyes, cheeks, nasal folds, and lip corners. I had the procedure 2 weeks ago today and can not say enough how amazed I am at the results. He described it as giving "that something missing". He was so right. It doesn't really look like I've had anything "done", but look like I did when I was younger, but still "me". He's the expert at that; not making it look like you've had something done, just making you look great.

The procedure was about an hour under genera anesthesia. I never took a pain pill or really had any pain. Obviously the laser leaves you red, oozing and swollen for a week or so and the fat transfer also has some swelling, but I work from home and never missed a day of work. After one week, back in public (with sunglasses) at 2 weeks a little makeup covers it and could not be happier with the results.

I read all the horror stories about the fat transfer. I don't have one, because I went to a reputable plastic surgeon with experience in the procedure who also understood my goal. I highly recommend him. I wouldn't trust anyone but him to get it right.
