Approaching 6 weeks... less pain finally

Pain is finally getting better... I'm able to apply lotion and wash my neck, which really I haven't been able to do.

I had to take 10 days off from the chin wrap due to a crazy travel schedule over the holidays, but I have started wearing it again at night.

The lumps.... not much better. I'm paranoid I set myself back by not massaging/ wrapping for those days. Also a bit paranoid about weight gain during the holidays and implications for the chin... but the photo really doesn't look much different than the last one.

Overall I'm still pleased. Nobody is looking at those lumps from below.

Chin lipo price- my thoughts

Hi- an acquaintance asked why the price was so high for my procedure. Valid question. So, first of all I'm in Scottsdale and plastics are common and expensive. Of the 10 consults I had, prices ranged from $3500- $6000 for chin Lipo. I chose the dr with whom I was most comfortable and had the most logical assessment/plan thought process.

Also- I chose general anesthesia and that added over $1000 to the price. Now, I have had multiple surgeries and I opted to be awake for some of them... but I cannot fathom having chin lipo surgery awake, even if it's extreme sedation. I'll pay extra to be intubated and asleep.

I am an MD myself and professional reputation played into my decision as well. Future plastic surgery will be done by the same surgeon, as well.

3 weeks out, looks good from the side, still lumpy and painful

I am still very sore and tender. Some swelling persists. The area feels lumpy, and I ventured to take a photo of my chin from underneath. Yikes. Look at that! I'm glad people don't look at me from that angle.
I am to the point that I can massage without crying, so that should help that lumpiness. I did expect less pain at 3 weeks post op and am going to contact my surgeon tomorrow (although I doubt anything can be done about it. I just need to heal.)
