26 Weeks Post Op

WORTH IT$10,000
I’ve been meaning to write an update for some time, so-here you go:

Soreness is gone completely but I am numb to the touch on the outer sides and underneath. My PS said that’s normal and it will most likely come back. It doesn’t bother me so I don’t really care about that part.
I’m currently wearing a 34D but I’m pretty sure I’m still swollen and hoping I still shrink some more.
When I come home from working out in the morning, my sides are “puffy” (swollen) but this usually subsides a few hours later.
My scars are flat and white. I’m pretty fair so I’m almost certain they will fade nicely. I do still wear my scar strips to help-I’m using Biodermis and I really like them. I also still sleep in a sports bra-although my PS said that wasn’t necessary at this point. I guess I’m hoping they will stay high and tight if I wear the sports bra to sleep. (Wishful thinking, probably)

I’m still really glad I did the surgery. Honestly the only part I’m not 100% happy with is the shape of the areola outline. I wish they were more centered and circular. I go back to see my PS in July and I’m going to see what she says about that. Previously she did mention that was an “easy fix” and she can re shape them once I had healed a little more. I’m going to press her on that and see what I can do and let you know what I find out.

Happy Healing to all!

10 weeks post op

Well, I’ve made it 10 weeks. Yay!
I haven’t updated in awhile so a few new things to report:
*I can finally sleep on my side-with careful pillow placement
*Ive gone back to the gym-as of week 8: I’m definitely modifying my routine but the difference is amazing! So far, no back, neck or shoulder pain
*I had to buy new sports bras to work out and out of habit I grabbed the large and XL and low and behold I wound up buying a small or medium! VICTORY!!
*Im still numb in a lot of places (mostly the sides and underneath) but thankfully the “zingers” are less and less frequent because I could sure feel those!
*I started my silicone strips at week 9 (last week) I purchased from BioDermis and I really like them so far. I keep them on and only take them off when I shower or work out. I uploaded a pic to show you what they look like. I find the strips easier than the gel. The gel seems like more of a commitment than I’m willing to adhere to.
*The areolas and nipples are still hyper sensitive but definitely getting better
*My PS said I could wear a regular-non underwire bra at 6 weeks but I waited till 8 weeks. I was still really swollen at 6 weeks and I felt like the band was cutting off my circulation. Now, it’s completely fine at 10 weeks. I still sleep in a sports bra-just for my own comfort-not because my PS said I had to.
I go back to see my PS in March so she can check on that weird red spot between my breasts. She thought it was a pimple, I swear it is a stitch. I’ve had it for over a month! She’s also going to do some work on my areola. At my last appointment I expressed my concern for the non-symmetrical areolas and she said that’s a quick fix and can be adjusted in the office.
Happy Healing!

8 weeks post op

Well, it’s been 8 weeks and I figure it’s time for an update because even in my crappy mood, I owe it to everyone on here who has been such amazing support. I don’t know what I was thinking when I assumed I would magically be healed and ready to run a marathon at this stage but boy was I wrong. At 8 weeks I’m still a bit swollen and tender most days.
I’ve read on some other posts that other women have been going on the emotional roller coaster feeling they were still too big after the surgery. I’m really glad to know I’m not the only one. I measured at 6 weeks for a 34D and cried the entire way home. I wanted to be a C and I wanted “boob gap” but my PS assured me if she took any more away it would have been considered an amputation. (After 20 years of pain and suffering, would an amputation really have been that bad?!?) Some days I wake up upset and wishing I were smaller, some days I feel like I’m fine when dressed and look proportionate. I know I should be thankful and grateful but damn, I spent a lot of money, a lot of time healing and I really wanted to look like Isabella. (Yes, I even took your pics to my surgery the morning of!)
Although I had the okay to remove my surgical tape at 6 weeks, I was nervous so I left it on an additional 2 weeks and finally removed the last of it this morning in the shower. End of last week I started to really feel an itching sensation on the bottom of the incisions. Since it was on both, I assumed it was simply the normal healing pains. As the itching progressed into a burning sensation I decided it was time to bite the bullet and remove the tape. When I did, I noticed that the skin was definitely irritated and the one bottom of my breast is a bit purple almost. The photos don’t really capture the true purple of my skin and the incisions due to poor lighting, but trust me, it’s there.
My next appointment is Saturday and I’m curious to see what she has to say. There are a few spots where I can see my internal stitches coming to the surface. (Gross and ouch!) The sides of my torso and breasts are still quite numb (yet sore, very strange feeling) the areola is still hyper sensitive but slowly getting better. (Thank goodness because that’s just not my thing) The incisions/scars in between my breasts are almost overhanging, which is annoying. (Ugly) I feel like my areolas are a weird shape. They’re not a perfect round circle like I wanted. My PS said she could fix that later but is still discouraging.
I figured I’d post some pics to show my very slow progress. I’m super jealous of you ladies at an earlier stage going out and living it up. I guess I’m just a little slow on the healing side. My selfie game is weak so the photos make my breasts looks uneven but I promise, they’re the same size in real life. Yay!

Well looking at your pictures I can only tell you that they look very beautiful. The breasts are nicely rounded and the areolas have a nice shape as well. I hope all goes well for you and the brusing gets better soon :)
Thank you! it’s hard to get out of our own head sometimes. :-)
I think you look great. I know you are a month ahead of me but u too have the spitting stitches and the itchiness. My ps said just to trim the stitchs.i do have a hole at the t junction but I am putting pokysporon on it per ps and it seems to be closing up. My one breast is a little biggerbut it was way bigger in the beginning and the ps said they heal at different rates and one is just more swollen. I know my nopples.look a little different. He told me just five it six months. So I am and u should too. You still may go to a c don't worry. I bought a 38 c cup but if I hot the 36 band which i measure but won't get yet because of the scars I would probably be 36 d. Just try one of your old bras and it will make u feel better lol that's what I do. On another note they tried to charge me 42000. For my breast reduction. Then they billed me another 7995. My insurance made them write off everything but 4300.00 which my insurance has already pd. Remember I was worried because the ps didn't take the required amount and when I seen that Bill of over42000. I about pooped my pants. I called and the hospital assured me it was correct I told them they were nuts that we asked and it ranged from 4700. I was do glad when I seen the instance papers that everythi g was taken care of even though I did not get the required amount out.
