I'm a healthy and health-conscious, athletic...

WORTH IT
I'm a healthy and health-conscious, athletic 5'4'', 110 lb., 32 A/B 43 yr old mom. I want a natural look to fill out lost volume from brestfeeding and age. I love a sexy, curvy womanly shape. I lost my volume from age and breastfeeding. My biggest deterrent in getting BA is the negative body image message I might be sending my daughters and potential health risks. I'm pretty sensitive to chemicals, perfumes and anything toxic so I worry I might have some side effects from BA. I'm planning on getting the smallest silicone implants that fit my petite frame. Today I go for my final consult to determine size. I"m also having Rhinoplasty to open up my right nasal passage to improve breathing. Doctor will also smooth out slight bump. I figure I might as well go under the knife only once. I hope it isn't too much pain in having two surgeries at once.

Good luck! I am also an athletic girl wanting a natural look, and am very sensitive to things as you are. I'm getting a rhinoplasty and breast Aug on April 9. We decided 350cc moderate plus Mentor cohesive gel. Let us know how it goes for you! :)

Thank you!

...you are very lucky. I used to be a clothes model but at the time I didn't realise how pretty I looked or how lucky I was to have such a beautiful shaped body. I believe I am still lucky now as I am almost fifty and still look really good with a very nicely shaped body. The only thing I have had done are my breasts...but I think most slim girls tend to have naturally more petite breast to begin with. Whatever you decide to do good luck. You are very lucky indeed to have been blessed with such a nice shape to begin with. x:-)

I just wanted to update you, as I am one week post-op. I got them, and I love them already! I am glad I did it. They already feel like they are a part of me!

...hi, your post came up on my laptop and I thought it was a story of breast reduction so I opened into it. I just want to say after reading your post...it's great you're choosing a small implant. Big is not best, far from it. I am in the journey of having my implants out . I have mild CC in the left breast after 20 great years of implants. I loved my implants, but sadly 20 yrs down the line (and I have been very lucky as many women have problems before 20yrs is up) I now have a choice of replacing with bigger implants (you can't downsize implants without a lift and I don't want any scars), or removal and no replacement.....so starting with small implants is definitely best as if you have to have them out you can go a little bigger with replacement but never smaller so if you start off big you will end up huge or with a lift to get smaller. I am almost 50 and the thought of going under the knife now is frightening (I'm not a fuddy duddy old 50 by the way lol:-)), so to have replacement I don't think is an option as I know they always need replacing further down the line again and I know I would eventually have to go under the knife again and I wonder how old I will be then and I know it's inevitable with time and wear of implants....so I think I have to leave them out altogether...so if you are having implants I have to say I think going for smaller implants is best. I only had 265cc by the way but they seem huge as your boobs get bigger as you get older. I imagine you will have to have further surgeries down the line yourself as implants don't last forever...I wish you luck on your transformation but have to say your boobs look absolutely fabulous as they are...they really really do!! :-)

Thank you. Your comment is giving me pause to think again. I have thought about the future surgeries and I know that is a reality. I'm still on the fence about all this. I don't hate my appearance. I just have a preference to be fuller and slightly larger.

...your breast pictures are lovely. To me you are absolutely perfect but I felt just the same as yourself when I decided to have my implants. It's a little ironic really, because now I would give anything to have boobs like yours are NOW! as in pre-augmentation!! :-) Are you the girl in your profile picture... your body is soooooooo in proportion. That is a model figure!

That is not me in the profile pic but it is pretty close to my figure. I'm a size 0, 5'4", 110, very slender and toned yoga body.

I think you look amazing as you are! You look very well proportioned.

I saw the doctor a couple of days ago and we took a photo of me before and after with the 215 cc implants in a sports bra with my clothes on. He says this is the largest they will ever look since they are laying on top of my skin and not yet inserted. I like the way they look.

Good luck with your upcoming surgery! I think you will have very natural-looking results with 215cc. Please make sure you are fully aware of all possible risks and complications (medically and cosmetically) before your surgery date so that you are prepared. Best wishes! :)

Thank you! I have researched like crazy. Quizzed the doctor to death to where I thought he might kick me out and not do the surgery. :) In the end, I can't predict what will really happen, just make the best decision with the information I have and go with my gut.

You've done exactly what you're supposed to. I quizzed my doc to death too! Lol

Haha. He was a great sport and very respectful. I have a lot of trust in him and he came highly recommended from a few friends.

Hey there, I wanted to say that we're the same age, and I too was considering implants due to loss of volume. After realizing the average replacement is every 10 years I opted not to. I also have a beautiful 15 year old daughter who like yourself I to had concerns with how it would impact her. I'm so very glad I choose not too. I'm now looking into possible fat transfer, but even still, it's a fairly involved procedure. It's a difficult decision, because honestly I believe we're looking into this for a little restoration of what we once had, not what we've never had, so the internal struggle is a bit different. I had a rhinoplasty when i was 22, and was so thankful my daughter didn't end up with my previous nose, because how would i explain to her, it should be good enough for her. All the things we think of. Haha. What I've come to realize is accepting what we have doesn't seem to be an easy solution either, so I've found focusing on what I do like, and choosing the safest options options for things I do change helps to maintain a bit of a balance. The one rule of thumb I always follow is, always go with your gut, and if any doubt don't do it, then trust your decision and don't look back. Good luck!

SusiQ, I love your advice. It is so true that this can be such an internal struggle. I ultimately will trust my gut. I know if I don't do it, I will be fine. And if I do it, I will probably love it and will cross whatever bridge (replacement or other complication) when I come to it. Truth is we can't predict anything. I'm so appreciative to have your support and honesty.
