My very qualified doctor injected perlane into my tear troughs to help with hollowness. I swelled horribly and once the swelling went down I looked completely over filled with large dark marks under the eyes. The doctor and his staff kept telling me it looked great and to give it more time.
After a month I couldn take it. I had him inject hyaluronidase and immediately noticed the filler dissolving.
But... It still looked horrible. Still too over filled.
The following week I came back asking fo more hyaluronidase. The doctor didn't want to do it because he and his staff said I looked just great. (Not!)
He did put in a little more and again it got "a little" better.
Same thing the following week.
The next week I returned and the doc said flat out he wouldn't inject any more hyaluronidase for 2 weeks.
That was it!
I went to another doctor that I had researched and felt happy with... Saw him the next week, and was so relieved!
I walked in and he immediately new what was wrong. I didn't have to say a word! (Talk about validation!!)
He injected more hyaluronidase and even the feel was different. He had such an awesome bedside manner! He explained everything and made me feel a huge weight being lifted from my shoulders.
I am writing this just hours after the injections and I will tell you, I absolutely can't stop smiling at myself. He fixed me! I am back to myself! Maybe a little better. I will never go to anyone else!
My first doc is a dermatologist with great credentials. My new doctor is a facial plastic surgeon with fantastic credentials.
Be aware...
Don't count on a great outcome. Even with a well respected doc things go wrong.
But, my advice...
If your doctor (and his staff) tells you everything looks great and you don't feel the same, trust your judgement. Besides, you're the one who has to live with it!!

I am one week post hyaluronidase... Went back for follow up and Dr. Hobgood injected just a tiny bit more under my right eye. He also did some botox injections. I'm so happy I found him. Looking good!!

I have an appointment scheduled with Dr. Hobgood at the end of this month to have my restylane dissolved but I am still terrified from all the horror stories. Did you experience any kind of skin damage or any negative effects on the skin or your own HA? Do you know the name of the dissolver and how many units were used?

I don't know which brand name Dr. Hobgood uses or the amount, but he will inject what he thinks is necessary and then inject more if needed.
I feel like he really knows what he's doing. He explains a lot before, during and after the procedure so you will know exactly what's going on.
I advise you to try to relax and trust him. I can't tell you just how happy I am that I put my faith in him! I will NEVER go to anyone else again!!
Don't be afraid of the hyaluronidase. It only dissolves the filler put in-- not anything naturally made in the body. You will see right away what the hyaluronidase is doing. Look in the mirror right after he injects. It's amazing! You can see what was dissolved immediately. You will look slightly red and pink just at the injection sights... Kinda looks like right after botox injections.
Dr. Hobgood has excellent credentials and tons of testimonials. I had a good feeling from him the minute we met and just felt very confident in him.
You should also ask him for suggestions on how to make things look better... Such as: botox in different areas of the face. He did botox on a few different areas on my face the same time he injected the hyaluronidase.
I am looking so great now I can...almost...get over the ridiculous perlane injections I had in the beginning of this whole debacle. That was the longest few months of my life!
Hang in there!
I just know this will work for you too... You're in good hands!

Thank you so so much for your words of encouragement. I get depressed every time I look in the mirror. I want this stuff out of my face. Your satisfaction really does give me the confidence to move forward. I'll keep you posted on how things go.

Any follow ups on hyaluronidase? I have dark discolouration from Restylane 2.5 years ago, Had one round of hyaluronidase which didn't fix it, and haven't touched it since. It's not going away on its own and I don't really know what it is. Considering going in for more hyaluronidase, but also heard some horror stories. It definitely does affect your natural HA, but when injected in right amounts the HA will replenish shortly. Your body produces this enzyme all the time to degrade your natural HA, so it should be safe in the right hands..

Will it dissolve all the filler or just a little area that is bad, I have a bag under my eye from restylane that I want dissolved but I don't want all of the restylane gone. She used 3 syringes on me.

Thank you for writing this review. It gave me courage. Today is day two after hyaluronidase. I already look so much better. I hope the trend continues and my skin normalizes. It looks better each time I return to the mirror. What a relief! Thanks again.
