So I am updating my fraxel review and my skin is looking GREAT today I can hardly believe it myself. My pores have really gitten smaller skin appears clearer and lines a little less prominent. Sun damage less obvious. I am not prepared to give this review a worth it yet however I am changing my review to unsure. I have been doing a honey mask at night and then ret A before bed. In the a.m I have been using no. 7 advanced serum with cera ve moisturizer on top of that. Also every other day have been using pure aloe gel to moisturize my face as well in the afternoon. I have been doing the honey mask ret A and no.7 serum for about a month I believe they have helped heal my skin nicely so far as well as the aloe. I will continue to update finally My skin is looking better!

I cannot tell you how happy I am to hear this!!! I feel like you have given me so much hope :) What product do you think has helped you the most?

honestly I am not sure but keeping my skin moisturized has been most important if it gets dry it looks really bad. I have stayed on a regular routine which I think is most important. I know the ret A is good for cell turn over the honey mask helps hydrate and keep away acne and the no.7 serum is suppose to promote new collagen and the aloe helps heal skin I think all have been important unsure which has been the most helpful. I know I wont leave the house without sunblock I dont want any more damage to my face. Hopefully with time you will find your skin is healing as well and start to look better I was feeling hopeless before but maybe my skin just takes a long time to heal everyones different. I will continueto update . I think its important to do these reviews so people are of aware of what to expect but then again everyone is different and may heal differently. Best of luck to you and hope you continue healing and your skin looks better with time.

Do you feel like the enlarged pores that you had show up a couple months after the treatment have gotten better now that you are in your 4th month?
User Avatar

yes they were huge for months after treatment they have definetely gotten much smaller
May 4, 2015
Oh good! I pray that happens to me as well... I just purchased the no. 7 serum per your suggestion. I also have retinol at home but have been too scared to use anything on my face other than honey and emu oil... Maybe now that I'm 3 months post I can see if I can tolerate it. I am so happy that things turned around for you though! :)

I googled no. 7 serum and there were a gazillion to pick from. Can you say which one that is?

I'm so happy for you. Thank you for sharing your experience. :D

I'm happy for you that your skin is looking much better. But considering all the aftercare time and energy you have had to invest to get your complexion there, still would make me question if it's worth it. Those who promote the wonders of the process NEVER suggest such follow up measures are needed to achieve positive results.

Do you know your treatment levels by chance for the laser??

REALLY appreciate the day by day account of your experience. The pictures and the details you give are especially helpful. I hope you continue to heal and conclude that your treatment was worth the money, pain and anxiety over the results. However, comparing your account over four months to what plastic surgeons and cosmetic dermatologists describe, it seems that the healing time has been MUCH longer than you'd expect. A board certified plastic surgeon once told me when I inquired about it, that such a treatment would heal and have great results in terms of smoothing my complexion (which isn't bad naturally) removing age spots and mild rosacea as well as tightening the skin and diminishing wrinkles within a month and that the swelling and redness would be gone in seven to ten days. Best of luck and thanks for your postings.

Seems like your skin could use some polishing with microdermabrasion. Sometimes a combination of treatments hydrating works wonders. A good moisturizer as well. Perhaps a change in the Fraxel settings.

You did a great job documenting your fraxel procedure. Wow! I had been considering it, but even though some people have good results, too many seem to have negative issues similar to yours. I am sorry you had to go through the terrible experience as well as the expense. I hope you will find some other solution that fixes the areas you have mentioned.

Regretting fraxel severe texture issues

User Avatar
irishchic
Its been almost three months since my one fraxel treatment and I regret it the texture of the skin on my face is awful I have patterns and enlarged pores in places on my face where I hardly seen my pores. This is very similiar to other reviews I have seen on here . I am considering some vi peels to try and correct some of the damage but dont know if anything will fix the damage from this laser I look at the skin on my face and am so upset I let my vanity lead me to the decision to get fraxel I wish I had my old face back!! I had some lines and enlarged pores but nothing like the texture I have no lines and patterns pores in places I never had them . If I get the peels I will post an update .

I noticed it probably around the third week. Not sure if it's gotten worse ... It definitely hasn't gotten better. Please let me know if anything you try works!!

I feel your pain. It's eight months for me. I currently see a new dermatologist and a plastic surgeon. They both told me the scarring is permanent. They've both given me bleaching/blending lotions and those helped to a point. They are very hard on your skin and my cheeks are ruby red when I use them. My inititial goal was to get rid of the track marks and scarring and those have fading a bit, but over the last two months the fat/flesh is noticeably gone and my face has an appearance looking a bit like melting wax. Both the derma and plastic surgeon are saying to wait a year (aargh) and then do something like Skulptra to fill in where the flesh pads (sorry, don't know the technical term) under the skin. The derma says Skulptra and peels and maybe dermabrasion, but right now I think I'll cut my losses. Today is Easter and I can't wait to be surrounded by family trying not to notice this mess. I'm horrified and embarrassed and have not told anyone, except this forum, what I have been dealing with. Mostly, I try to distract myself. I contacted a lawyer, last week, and he says I have "a case", from looking at the pictures I sent him. It was nice to be validated instead of hearing "oh it's not THAT bad". He is working with another lawyer who represents an aerobics intructor who had laser hair removal done around her bikini line, which is a whole other kind of hell. Luckily, she has no pain, but cannot even wear her workout clothes, without embarrassment. Currently, I am using none of the bleaching/blended hydraquoinone and hoping that my face will stop hurting so bad. I can usually tolerate two weeks of that and then, I go off for a couple weeks and use extremely emolient moisturizers. Good luck to everyone. None of us deserves this, you trusted a medical professional who sold you a very flawed technology and really didn't care about anything but money and ego.

I feel your pain. I visited my parent's house today and spent the entire day crying in my childhood bedroom about what was done to my face.... None of my family members know what to do. I just can't believe this happened to me.

yeah this sucks our faces are most important to us women I feel like a fool for trusting anyone to burn my face I honestly dont know what the hell I was thinking I guess being in my mid thirties has been hard for me to adjust to aging midlife crisis maybe but I must saywith the way the media portrays youth and beauty us women are an easy target for these kind of false hopes I am extremely angry with myself and working with a therpist thank god for therepy!!
April 6, 2015
What kind of laser did you do?? Fraxel restore or one of the so called aggressive ones? I'm getting really nervous about the loss of fat.
