Decided to do the all on 4, due to missing numerous front teeth and back teeth as well as having teeth that just aren't very strong and keep falling out. Been to the dentist many times and cavities just keep accumulating . Went in this am for the all on 4 procedure and I will update more about my experience

How are you doing? All on 4?
May 21, 2016
I'm day 3 post operative and just now beginning to feel like myself. Today is the worse day with the swelling but the pain is not bad. I have a little mouth and was told from the beginning that my lips would be the worse and it's true. My lips are cracked, peeling and extremely swollen. My smile is beautiful though! I have to go to my dentist Monday morning for an adjustment to help with the over bite

My whole face was bruised though. I looked like a chipmunk that was punched by Mike Tyson!! They did have to remove all 4 wisdom teeth though

I'm doing it next week. Pretty nervous. In worried about the post operative pain and pain during the procedure. How long were you swollen for?

Hi. The swelling was down by Saturday . First few days really swollen. They say that sometimes the worst days are the 3rd and 4th. For me the worst days were day 1 and 2. Take your meds and use the ice on for 20 and off for 20. Get some redbox movies, watch some baseball , you will be fine. I found that I was really worn out from doing even the littlest thing, like walking the dog . Today's my 10th day since the surgery, looking forward to a couple of beers after work tonite. I go back next Wednesday for a follow up . Ohh the pain during surgery , I didn't really feel any except when they put the screws in. I kinda thought they should have given me more meds when they were doing the screws. I'm not gonna lie, I did feel like the surgery was long. Today I'm working on getting my normal voice back. It does come back, just a little tough to talk with new things in your mouth. It's kinda like talking after novacain .

i was swollen for 2 days. took all my meds as prescribed and after that the hardest part was making sure i ate soft things, like eggs, mash potatoes, soft diet. i was awake and numbed with novacain. it was not that bad, really! good luck!! norma vets

Good Luck To You. I went through the process since november, i started, and just last week i had the last procedure done also had impressions for my new teeth. can't wait. it has been a long journey but i think it was worth it. i should be getting my new teeth by july. i had 2 implants on the bottom and i will have regular dentures on the top. the bottoms in my experience are the hardest to stay put in. i'm almost there!!! best thing i have ever done for myself!! p.s. i don't smoke!! you will heal better if you don't. will post pictures after i'm done. norma vets springhill, florida

Good luck. I too had a mouth full of cavities and broken teeth that I keppt getting filled. I began my prodecure in Feb 2016 with full mouth extraction (17 teeth), bone grafting, sinus lift, and immediate dentures. My gums are healing well. I will have my implants put in July (6 on top and 4 on bottom), but right now have to deal with the grandparent dentures. I can't wait to get my final set. Like you, this was the best decision I ever made.

Day 6

Still taking my meds and doing ice every once in awhile. On soft foods. Seems like maybe my bottom all on 4 isn't lined up correctly because they create and over bite . Hopefully this can be fixed. The bottom seems to be under pressure and are definitely the ones that just don't feel right. I've had to constantly use lip balm as my lips are dry from the surgery . I never really thought I was going to be talking differently but it seems like I'm having trouble with certain letter like the letter S. Anyone have issue with that? Will it go away?

Yes I had that issue. It did go away. I practiced and googled some tongue twisters and read them aloud.

Guess I'll work on that today

To early to expect perfection and probably will never happen while wearing your temps. I am at the wax try in phase at about 5 months and still talk with a bit of a lisp. perfection just don,t happen when you get the temps. they do the best they can but you will see as you get to the impression phase and wax try ins. they do a lot of work to make it right and it takes time. Be patient and follow your diet instructions. Take care of the implants. It takes time and it feels like forever, but you will reach the end and as long as you give your imput during each phase you will end up with good speech and good looking smile.
Best of luck, Joe

Thanks Joe - going in for my 10 day appointment tomorrow. Do you know if they can adjust an underbite now ? Have you eaten any chips ?
May 18, 2016
No chips since dec 15 for me. And no bite adjustments. Maybe they can but mine said no. Totally satisfied with my final teeth but the overbite is what is being fixed. Not rushing. Want it right.

Wondering how things have been? I was thinking about spear choice in schaumburg but ended up going to eon clinics because it was closer to home in Hoffman estates. Would love to hear back and see how progress is going>
