WORTH IT$8,000
I was once 400LB and have type 2 diabetes. I decided to start losing this weight that held me back from so much of life. I started by cutting out carbs and ate as much meat and veggies as I wanted. I struggled, but the weight did start to come off. I lost 170 LBS. I continued walking a bit each day on my treadmill, but it was so difficult. I had this apron belly, the kind that hangs over your pubic area. I suffered for years with constant infections, cortisone creams, antifungal medications creams and pills. I could fit 2 wash cloths under my abdominal apron belly just to absorb moisture. I couldn't wear a bathing suit, my belly always hung out the bottom. Same with shorts, my belly hung out the bottom. EMBARRASSING! I always had to wear long tops to cover my belly. I did my research, and with a referral note from my family MD made an appt. to see Dr. Kreidstein. ( No consultation fee if you have a note referring you from your family MD) Not many people realize, but OHIP helps to pay for your removal of the apron belly!! WHAT? How amazing is that!! Not many surgeons want to be bothered with OHIP. Dr. Kreidstein took care of all the paperwork, and several weeks later I was approved. I had my surgery, everything was fantastic. I am so thrilled with my results. This big belly I had to stuff in to huge clothes to fit-GONE. My self esteem is incredible, and I'm able to exercise without a big belly flopping. My pubic area is no longer an embarrassment to me, I can see it for the first time in years!!! I had realistic expectations. I knew I wouldn't be a bikini model, I just wanted to be able to wear shorts, a bathing suit, and not have to buy big huge shirts to cover my belly. Plastic surgery is NOT out of your reach. That is what I always thought. I took the leap, and will be 50 this year! Be kind to yourself. My total cost $8000.00. The hospital charges half the operating room time if you have anything other than the panniculectomy (the apron), which I did. So the hospital charged me $2900.00, Dr Kreidstein $5000.00, and OHIP paid the rest!!! AMAZING.....

Wow. You had no drains? I'm scheduled for the 25th of this month and one of my biggest fears is the drain. I wish my surgeon didn't use them. Did you get the fdl panni or the regular? I'm getting the fdl and finding info on that has been hard. I'm glad to hear your recovery has moved along well, I hope and pray that mines is the same way.

No a normal panni with muscles tightened. Cut from hip to hip and I am glad I didn't have the fdl. I guess the old way of doing surgery is drains. I had no drains and no problems.

Hi there congrats on getting the fleur de lis are they doing the felt pannectomy ot full on fdl tummy tuck. I had wanted the fleur de lis for myself but my Doctor Who is a professor of plastic surgery at a world renowned hospital told me that those are notoriously hard to heal especially on my body type so I would just be careful. And I have never heard of anybody having the Fleur de lis done with no drains at all there's just too much potential for fluid buildup and you don't want to get a seroma or a hematoma plus there is just more swelling and fluid retention with no drain
