I am an 11 year breast cancer survivor and in the spring of 2010 my oncologist suggested that I take the BRCA genetic test. My results blew me away. I had an 84% chance of recurrence. I was only 47 at that time and those were odds I just could not live with, so I made the decision to undergo a double mastectomy with reconstruction.
