When I used to sell bridal gowns I met my fair share of bride-zillas. Since I am pretty sure that I have turned into a boob-zilla after making the decision to have a breast augmentation I am going to vent my obsessing here so that I can spare my wonderful husband (somewhat) and support others going through the same experience.

I have always been very active, slim, and small busted (32-4 A-AA). Like many others seeking an augmentation I lost the little boobies that I had after breast feeding my son (13 months of nursing, extra 500oz donated that he didn't finish, he is now 6.5). My milk boobies were E-freaking-normous, constantly squirting, and a pain... but fun in the bedroom and much appreciated by the aforementioned wonderful husband. I am going to confess that I read (not exclusively) romance novels and erotica, and I feel like I am missing vital sex organs. And now after having had breasts that made me feel sexy, feminine, womanly, and yes even a bit erotic... I want that feeling back.

So ... I'm going to invest in me.

So, it has been 6 weeks since my first consult and two since my last. My husband and I met with 6 different plastic and cosmetic surgeons?. I found the entire experience to be an unexpectedly massive emotional rollercoaster. We selected who to interview based on reviews, personal recommendations?, and location. I found that I was so excited to begin the augmentation process that I was ready to sign up with the first surgeon we met and cancel all the rest of the appointments. I am so happy that I didn't. Consulting with so many different people allowed me to create a clearer picture of what I wanted. By being able to compare what all of the surgeons suggested for me as "proportionate" I was able to create a range of consensus and outliers. For example one recommendation was quite narrow when compared to the group, and one a bit wide. Some suggestions were very high or low cc volume. As one would expect each surgeon had a very specific and unique approach. I did learn something important from each consultation (and in some cases subsequent phone calls) that I consider vital to my final decision. Because I visited so many different people I had the chance to try every method of determining size. I don't think I would feel this confident in my decision to proceed if I hadn't done each, and been able to compare the results.

So I have made all of the necessary decisions, paid my balance, and stocked up on front close bras and tops. Now I just have to wait until my time off from work and the big day. I am definitely obsessing less and I even had a moment of second guessing myself when I realized that after a BA it will have be less believable when I dress up as my favorite Disney villain.
