55yo old and I am at a point in my life where I would like to do something for me. I am always doing for others and forgetting about myself. I hate my body. I need a serious makeover and I need to feel confident about myself again, I am planning to have a TT, Lipo, +BBL. I have researched, what seems like forever to find a doctor good enough to perform my surgery. My final search has lead me to Dr. Jose A. Hungria. I have paid my deposit and have decided on June 20th for my surgery. I can't wait.

It's almost time BeeBee1018, how are you making out? How long are you staying in the DR?

What can anyone tell me about the Recovery Houses? I pretty much know the price. I heard some have very small rooms, that are tightly shared. Your reservation is confirmed for a bed, no choice in the matter.

I am 9 days away from my surgery. I should be there about 9 days. I am going through host of emotions and doubts. I am excited as I am finally getting my body back after all these years but I am concern about the expectation that I might not be satisfied with the outcome. I did not post any pictures as I wanted to wait to compare the before and after. I have prayed for a good outcome. I have read some great stories on RS but also some crazy ones. I just have to be positive that everything will work out. Thanks for your support during this journey.

Keeping a realistic and positive disposition will take you a long way. I didn't have any outrageous expectations, I knew what ever Dr. Hungria would have me looking better than I did when I started. Good luck on your surgery, I'm here for support.

I am 6 day pre-surg. I thank you all for your words of encouragement and prayers. I have finally posted some before pictures. I laugh every time I look at them. The front looks like a laughing hippo and the back looks like a line backer. Getting excited and praying everything turns our OK.

I got here yesterday and so far everything has been good. Waiting today for surgery. I was so tired as I had not slept in 18 hours, however, after all the pre-testing was done, I finally got some sleep. Thanks again for all your prayers and encouragement. Talk you on the flat side.

I am 3 days post op. I feel like I gave been run over by a mack truck. I am really not in pain that much but more discomfort. I am dying to take a shower, it is so annoying wiping down with baby wipes. Feels like dry cleaning. This drain I had to pin to my side as you need to take it everywhere like a purse. The recovery house I am staying is is very nice and the lady that takes of me is wonderful. Much shout out to Alondra. I am itching all over and can't scratch. But I feel flat. I thank God all went well.

I must say I had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful and beautiful ladies during this experience. But in life there is always ways to improve ourselves and that was the choice we made and we look absolutely FABULOUS ladies. I know for me it makes me feel a little more comfortable in my body.

Yes. I had to cut my trip short due to family emergency. I had paid for 8 days at the recovery house, but due to my family issue I lost $300.00. I am ok though. I have not pain, some soreness and tenderness to the liposuction areas. I had to contact Dr. Hungria as I am draining fluid from my navel. He said it is a seroma draining now. When I asked if it was normal he said it is the most superficial part of the abdomen. Draining should last about 2 weeks. I need to find someone close for my lymphatic massages. Hope all is well with you.

I'm sorry to hear about your family emergency, hope all is well. I've heard seromas are a common occurrence. The lymphatic drainage massages are key. I've heard there's a spa chain that offers them as well. I can't remember the name right now. When I remember it I'll message you. Let me know if you need anything else.

Now that I am not as sore and tender as before, I think now is the time I should do the massages. My sides and back feel so lumpy.

Hi, just checking in on you. Will you be posting pics? How's your recovery coming along? The name of the spa chains is called Massage Envy. They all have lymphatic drainage masseurs. Hope all is well.
