Round 2: Deciding Between DR, Colombia, or the US for BBL and Possibly BA
ORIGINAL POST
I've been going back and forth for months about...
$5,550
I've been going back and forth for months about getting a round 2 (my whole journey for round 1 is in a separate review). I'm 100% sure I want another BBL due to me not being completely satisfied the first time. I don't necessarily need the boobs but if I can get them for a good price, why the hell not. I'm in my deep research phase right now. I would love to get everything done over the Christmas holiday into New Years. This would give me time to save some coins. The DR is giving the snatched results I want within my budget. The major thing I have to consider is the several deaths and botched stories. I know that people die and get botched in the US HOWEVER, more stories are coming from the DR. Especially from CIPLA. I would prefer to avoid CIPLA at any cost. I've read so much about the sanitary conditions and I much rather be put under general anesthesia. I don't want to be awake at all. I'm still open to the DR pending I can find a great doctor with stellar reviews. That's where you ladies come in! I need suggestions based on personal experience. Not suggestions based on what you've read *no shade*. I've looked into Surgical Sisters which offers dope packages with either Dr. Francisco Rodriguez or Dr. Guerrero. The prices are reasonable considering it includes surgery, lodging, massages, and supplies. I'm open to less "famous" docs as long as they have stellar reviews and results I can easily find on the internet. Harold Villalobos in Colombia has good reviews too. I'm not sure what his prices look like but he gets good results as well. As far as the US, I would absolutely stay here and go to Dr. BBL for his BBL and J-Plasma procedures if I could afford it at the moment. The only thing is, he doesn't do breast implants. I believe he charges 11k for BBL with recovery home included and maybe an additional $2500 or so for J-Plasma to tighten the skin. I've done "cheap" in the US and it wasn't worth it. I should've went overseas or did more research on US docs and waited until I had the money. At this point, I either want to save money and get all the procedures I want overseas or wait up to a year or more to save for Dr. BBL. Let me know what you think ladies. Who has had successful surgeries in either the DR or Colombia and let me know the doc so I can research further. By successful, I mean no infections, burns, near-death experiences, etc. Mild complications can occur with any surgery so I'm not worried about that. Major complications are often due to technique so PLEASE help a sista out. I'll post my pre-surgery body and my post-round 1 pics after I get some feedback unless you want to check out my first review.

Dr. John Garcia Serna in Colombia
Thanks to one of the Real Self sister's comment on my last update, I got in touch with a Colombian surgeon John Garcia through WhatsApp. His assistant responded the same day and by the next day I had a quote in hand. He gave me 3 options: Hi Def Lipo with Fat Transfer is $5,550, Breast Augmentation is $2,900 and breast lift with augmentation is $3,500. All 3 come with recovery home stay, anesthesiologist assessment, internist assessment, and 5 massages. Option 3 is off the table as I have very perky breast so I don't need a lift. For now, I'm just going with the BBL because I'm not sure if I will have the extra $2,900 for the BA and I'm really trying to pay for this in full out of pocket. I told them that I wanted to fly down December 26th and although that gives me a decent amount of time to come up with $5,550, I still need a flight, a first and second stage faja, 5+ more massages while I'm in Colombia, pre-op labs, meds, possibly a pain pump, supplies, and extra money in case anything comes up. Last year, I took a $5,000 loan out on my 401k to get my BBL in Miami. I still had to come out of pocket excessively for recovery house, massages, supplies, etc. Post op massages in Chicago run about $175 each with tip. I also have to consider time off because I will need 2 full weeks. Although I haven't seen any horror stories with this doctor and have seen spectacular results, I am concerned that he is not a board certified plastic surgeon. He has a degree in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He seems to have extensive experience. The results that I've seen so far are amazing. I've talked with his assistant about the fibrosis from my previous BBL so he's aware. I'm not overly concerned but there is a bit of concern there. I have a friend who is interested in going with me to get the same procedures so at least I wouldn't be going alone. I have a lot to think about before I put my deposit down.

Board certified is important! I too am going for Bbl revision and breast aug....but I'm looking at Dominican Republic, specifically Yily, who seems to get girls really snatched at the waist.....the fact that everything is cash only is a little hard though.

It is. It seems like finding everything I need in Colombia is a little harder than I thought but that's definitely my preferred location. I'm super conflicted on compromising on the board certification. I've looked at a couple who are board certified but they don't give the same results as Garcia. He is a slam dunk.

I never even looked at Columbia....make sure they are any deaths or people getting infections, or malpractice....and people getting even results......it is scary to choose because we all want an amazing result.

I definitely have. I haven't seen any negative reviews at all for Garcia so far. I've seen more negative reviews stateside than I have for Colombia in general. Picking the surgeon is literally the hardest part especially when you've already had the procedure before and you know everything about it. Be really careful about Yily. I've read several times that she has other people doing her surgeries for her sometimes and CIPLA hasn't had the best reviews either. Let me know what you decide! I'd love to follow your story since we're getting the same procedures.

She's not at cipla anymore, Duran is which is why she's out....yes I saw that people have been waking up and yily is not there, but her team she overseas is doing it, and it seems like they are doing a great job....I wanted Cabral, but he's had malpractice when he was in NY with deaths, but reviews say he's the absolute best at snatching the waist and creating a good heart shaped butt......it's so hard to choose bc you don't know what the end result will be

I totally get it. I would LOVE to go to Cabral but I refuse to risk my life.

John García is the best in Cali Colombia he’s my dr and is the very best I also have operated with him 4 times
UPDATED FROM Curves4DaGirls
I’ve ruled Dr. Garcia Out :(
I decided that I can’t compromise on the board certification. It’s extremely important. I’m sad because Dr. Garcia has great results for BBL and BA. He also uses Vaser Liposuction and J-Plasma both which tighten the skin. It would be great if he got board certified before I decided on a surgeon but that’s a stretch. In the meantime, I’m asking you guys for surgeon recommendations either in Colombia or the States that do great in all the procedures I mentioned. The boobs aren’t that important but I do need the doc to offer Vaser and/or J-Plasma. I know Dr. BBL does but he doesn’t do breast implants. I would prefer to keep the option open and he costs a grip. Help!

How do you find out if a surgeon is board certified in Colombia? I thought as long as they have membership at the SCCP was good?
