Like so many women, I was insecure about my...
Like so many women, I was insecure about my breasts and at the age of 30 in 2005, I underwent BA. Saline (because they seemed safer), over the muscle, a sore recovery which made me wonder why I had taken this drastic step in my life. No longer could I run like I used to, but could no longer sleep on my stomach. They were never comfortable, very heavy, caused neck and shoulder pain. A few years later, I began to have symptoms that I didn't connect to the implants for a few years. One ruptured, so I decided to remove them once and for all and just appreciate my natural body (and be healthy). The plastic surgeons I had consults with all tried to talk me into replacement (what a business), so after extensive research I found a breast surgeon who does mastectomies. I wanted the procedure done correctly with all of the scar tissue remove (the only way to restore health). This wonderful surgeon, a woman, performed the 3 hour surgery under general anesthesia 4 days ago. I was scared, but everything went very well and I had very little pain the first two days. The last two days have come w/ soreness (and the inconvenience of drains, but they are very important). Tomorrow the drains will be removed. I have only taken Tylenol for the pain. Full recovery may take a while, but I am so happy to have the toxic bags of chemicals out of my body (as well as the scar tissue). I will use this time to appreciate my natural body, wish I had never failed to honor myself as a woman and my natural body. All women are beautiful and not one woman needs breast implants. We are not our breasts and we should not be willing to compromise our health to have bigger boobs. It is crazy...health is everything and with breast implants, you will not have your health for long. Please appreciate the beautiful women you are and stay true to yourself. Spare yourself the illness, the pain, the expense...just go out and live your life just the beautiful way you already are!
