I'll try to get right to the "meat" here. Not worth it (for me). The procedure had no perceivable effect on my abdomen. I purchased body fat calipers so that I could quantify the change. What can I say, I'm a numbers girl. Over $2K for 0% change does not make this girl happy.
Consult: Great. Doctor was really kind, approachable, and knowledgeable. Staff were all lovely.
Procedure: Treated lower abdomen to reduce the pooch, and bilateral flanks to carve out a slimmer waist. Very little pain. Definitely a sensation, but nothing I'd qualify as "painful". The treatment heads (I'm sorry I don't know what they're actually called) were placed unevenly on my flanks. One about and 1.5" higher than the other. My waistline is already asymmetrical, so had it worked, the placement of the device would have exaggerated that difference.
Recovery: lots of dark bruising on one side and not on the other. Slight numbness/itchiness for months to come. Now all completely resolved.
Outcome: No change. I measured body fat with calipers before treatment and recently (now over 4 months post-treatment). If Coolsculpting was hundreds of dollars rather than thousands, I might be compelled to see if I just need to stack another treatment in order to see results. At the current price, it's just not worth it. I'm glad to see others have has success with Coolsculpting. Some pictures are really impressive. Unfortunately, I just didn't see any results with mine. I may end up biting the bullet and opting for liposuction when I can find recovery time.

Provider Review
Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
1722 State St., Santa Barbara, California
Everyone in the office was really helpful and down to earth. The experience isn't anything like the pushy or snooty Santa Barbara plastic surgery experience that I was dreading. It was actually quite the opposite! Doc was professional, warm, and knowledgeable. My disappointment is with my body's (lack of) response to the treatment, and not with the surgeon and his staff.
